Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. says Manny Pacquiao was never as good as the media made him out to be. Mayweather points to Pacquiao's recent back to back defeats to Tim Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez - and then points to past comments from press members who felt Pacquiao was on Mayweather's level or even better.
For at least four years, or more, there have been discissions about a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, but the deal never happened for one reason or another. Mayweather does not expect a fight with Pacquiao to ever happen down the road.

I'm a big Mayweather fan and have always thought he'd beat Pacquiao, but hes wrong here, Manny beat some good opposition in very good fashion to make a case for a fight between the two of them to be interesting. The reason the media was talking about it so much was because it was the biggest fight in boxing and all the fans were talking about it too.
So why didn't Floyd win his first title at 112 or 122 or 126 then? You're contradicting yourself, and spinning in circles. All because you want to dismiss Pac's accomplishment below 130, like crying about me saying he's won 3 divisional titles and fought 2 ATGs below Floyd's starting pro weight.
Floyd didn't win titles below 130 because he started his career at 130 genius. And when exactly did I try and dismiss Pac's accomplishments below 130? If anything, I'm saying his accomplishments at 47 and 54 are exaggerated because he gets a lotta credit for fighting all these much bigger guys when the reality is, it wasn't unprecedented. You know, because Floyd's jump in weight was pretty much the same. I seriously think you're mentally challenged.
If you think JMM hits harder than Floyd, you need to
Punch for punch, yes he does hit harder. Where Floyd's power comes in is when he hits a guy with a punch he doesn't see. But the fact is, there are enough differences in both Marquez and Floyd that make the dynamics of anyone facing them, not easily predictable. And the point was also triangle theories. A guy saying that Floyd is a souped up version of Marquez is highly untrue. There are too many dynamics and each guy going against another fighter doesn't prove anything.....proven by the Ali/Foreman/Frazier scenarios, among countless others.

Well its a couple ways to look at it. Triangle theories don't always apply. But, the things Pac struggles with with JMM Floyd does better than JMM. Plus, floyd is bigger, faster, stronger, HITS HARDER, and about 10x harder to hit. Plus, Pac would have a height and reach disadvantage to deal with in Floyd. Nothing is definite. But I don't think its outta line to say Pac would be a solid underdog against Floyd.

Lou dibella-who respectfully, knows a little more than you about boxing- said ev erything jmm does floyd does bettet stronger quicker and faster. Its hard to argue otherwise.
Doesn't mean floyd beats manny because jmm did. Triangle theories don't work. But if you have a problem with a certain style and a potential opponent utilizes the style but with added attributes like speed, power and accuracy defense, footwork, better balance and a longer reach- its reasonable for people to assume a similar outcome.
If you can't bench 400 lbs you probably can't bench 500 lbs either.

Good post... you cant bench 400.. you probably cant bench 500... Pac has problems with counter-punchers and Floyd is the best counter-puncher.. this has nothing to do with triangle theories...

Exactly my friend!! just so happens that I said the same thing.. just different.. lol.. I was one of them few that think it would have been competitive cause of the simple fact that pac possesses head movement and footwork.. punches from angles, with a bit of a pop.. that will offset some of the straight rights mayweather has gotten so much credit for landing vs straight come forward fighters.. but then Floyd posses good footwork as well.. so it would have definitely been a chess match..
