I hope he does. but again I don't think sergio should have to defend his MW title at anything less than 160. If they did a non title fight at 154 (assuming floyd beats canelo) for floyd's belts thats fine, but its not the "real sergio" so why do it in that scenario other than the money.

It is not about FM Jr., it's about GBP -- business needs two PPV cash cows at those weight divisions.Be honest with yourself. Do you really think Floyd cares what Canelo has done? As long as he's getting paid.
If Floyd really resents that Canelo has reached this stage so early, the place he'd hit him would be the money. And Im sure he's done that.
The weight is all about the threat that Canelo poses in the ring as opposed to Floyd's other 154lb opponents who were not young, strong and fresh.Comment

Unfortunately, the Spaniard and Argentinian doctors put an end to Sergio's boxing career... I like Martinez most, but he's finished alright...I hope he does. but again I don't think sergio should have to defend his MW title at anything less than 160. No. it was a power move by Mayweather. Delahoya even at 33 at 154 was a bigger threat to Mayweather at that point in Floyd's career.Be honest with yourself. Do you really think Floyd cares what Canelo has done? As long as he's getting paid.

It doesn't matter?
How does weight not matter when we're talking about weight lol
Instead of posting another reply, i'm just going to copy and paste my original post:
If it didn't matter, Floyd would have fought him at 154.
Cutting weight in training camp is a humongous burden. You get all of your energy from food, and if you have to focus on losing weight, then it takes away from your training. Canelo already has trouble making the weight because he rehydrates 17 pounds on fight night. That means his natural weight is around 170.
2 pounds in this case is a huge difference, and Floyd knows it. That's why he asked for the catch weight. If it didn't matter, Floyd wouldn't have allowed this blow to his credibility. It absolutely matters.Comment

A power move? What does that even mean? It sounds vaguely **********. He didn't use that "power move" against Cotto. Why? Because Cotto was an old, broken down fighter. I think Floyd got a nasty surprise in that fight when Cotto roughed him up and he realises this could be worse.Comment

Cotto was already a star and already said he wasn't interested in catchweights anymore. It's why he chose Mayweather over a Pacquiao rematch.
And my point about DLH being a tougher test than Canelo at that point?Comment

same reason manny asked cotto for 145. If you say otherwise you're no better than the fighters and posters you complain about. It doesn't matter?
