Cotto and de la hoya came from smaller weightclasses meaning they wern't natural jr middleweights and probably came in at 160lb tops on fight night. Im not gunna defend floyd cause i think he deserves to be slated for this but we all know alvarez is his biggest opponent who will be 170+ on fight night
it sure is, yall dont get where they are coming from... they as in Ward and Mayweather.... they aren't gonna let someone try to "pull their card" or just lure them in by saying Ill come down to such n such weight... ok if you saying you will do that, then ok now your ass gonna do it
Im not sure what you're actually saying here. I don't think I mentioned Ward? From your first post, it seems like you think it's ok to do a catchweight fight once.....but not twice?! Does that make sense?
You don't get it do you? Floyd has been discrediting and criticizing pac for his catchweight fights. Downplaying those fights and then he does the same damn thing and now justifying his. the **** he is getting is well deserved.
he did it during the cotto build up. stop acting like it was more than that.
Indeed. I feel bad for Floyd when he exposes himself like that. All I can do is cringe. He's emotional, clearly unstable. "Sensitive" doesn't even begin to cover it. Sometime it seems he's gone a bit crazy, literally, from the hate and criticism he receives. The problem is he is the cause of that hate and criticism. He's killing himself.
He is a lot more comfortable in a press conference than he was. I actually enjoy him sitting down like this talking. No one in boxing bar Ali has the right answers, or shall I say convincing ones.
Bottom line is Canelo said he can make 152 fine, it's about a pound less than he weighed in against Trout, and when fight night comes, and he's 170+.....no one is going to be thinking about how Canelo is supposedly drained, when he's 20 something pounds heavier than Floyd.
Same thing with Pac-Cotto. Cotto wasn't drained. But enough with the damn double standards on here.
Uh, um...except that Floyd fans drank that Floyd dont do Catchweights Kool-Aid and preached it like the Gospel on their hollier than thou campaign till they fell off the side of the cliff a few weeks back. The Body count was amazing.
Uh, um...except that Floyd fans drank that Kool-Aid and preached it like the Gospel.
I always said Cotto wasn't drained when he fought Pac either. He was big and healthy on fight night, the better man won.
What you and other Floyd haters refuse to admit is this.......Floyd hatersh ave said for years that Pac-Cotto was the better won, but now that Canelo-Floyd is at 152, which is basically the same thing as Pac-Cotto being at 145, it's an obvious attempt to drain him, and therefore Floyd doesn't deserve credit.
Floyd haters and bias Floyd fans can't have it both ways. Yet they want to. It's f**king pathetic is what it is.
Uh, um...except that Floyd fans drank that Kool-Aid and preached it like the Gospel going on the Floyd dont do Catchweight's hollier than thou campaign till they fell off the side of the cliff a few weeks back.
yes there were some that did that. reasonable people took a position well before that. some felt 145 was not a big deal and feel the same about 152. others, me included, felt both 145 and 152 were done to gain an advantage.
the only problems are the posters that justify one cw and criticize the other. you want it both ways-can't do that.
The same thing will happen when the floyd fans go HAM over the PED testing for the rios/manny fight.
