BTW, I'm not so stubborn and blinkered that I don't see the other side of the argument that people are making - about why risk getting hit if you don't need to. I do get that. I just fall on the other side - where a fighter saying he refuses to take punishment, while making $32m a fight, doesn't sit right.

"I'm not going out there to take any punishment" - Floyd

nothing wrong with this type of mindset
aslong as you fight the fights the people want to see
floyd says he doesn't want to take punishment, and honestly, only a ****** would say he's into it
but this doesn't mean he wont fight through punishment and quit like ortiz or somethin, the man definitely has courage in the ring
and i can easily see him fight through hell, if a fighter actually pushes him there

But it wasn't a career philosophy. They didn't tell everyone that punishment isn't cool, I refuse to go through it. Those guys fought through tremendous pain and punishment and that's why their careers are so brilliant to revisit.
When all is said and done, will Floyd Mayweather have one fight that goes in the top 100 fights of all time? In fact, let's make that 200.
I enjoyed the Chavez and Castillo bouts immensely actually. He stood right there with Castillo on an injury late in the fight, and dished it out as well as taking some.

It's the fact that he avoids punishment by avoiding fighters.
There's not a single thing wrong with being a defensive fighter, nothing wrong with that at all! But when you avoid the biggest fights and only fight weaker and slower guys because "its business" and you don't want to go through another Zab Judah for 5 rounds, or Mosey for another 2 rounds, or take a beating from Miguel Cotto for 2 rounds because your DEFENSE is good, but not THAT good...
That's a straight up coward in every sense of the word.
And in the video he's just admitted that Canelo was a hype job and the fight is being made simply because of "numbers."

you aint gonna see Floyd give an Erik Morales 12th round vs PAC 'let's see what you got' moment, that's for damn sure

Shouldn't you blame the opponents who can't hit him rather than the guy who is doing exactly what he's suppose to do? Not get hit?

Meanwhile you are the same guys who talk about how sad it is when you see and older punch drunk boxer who slurs everything. You all talk about how sad that is and then turn around and tell guys to be a punching bag or you are boring.
The fact is that there are some boring fights and Floyd has maybe had a couple but most of the one's that people call boring are not boring. He's had just a couple of boring fights but everyone acts like all his fights have been boring. Baldy was boring pot shot but those fights are the exception. Most are like the Ghost fight and there is nothing boring about that. Casual idiots boo but that is pure art.
Again, just read & watch what other fighters, managers, and e****ally trainers say about him. They think its pure perfection. You could tell that they could watch it all day. The lil subtle things he does are unmatched. All you guys wanna see is blood & guts, meanwhile Floyd is throwing punches and doing moves that no other guy in the sport can do. Hardly any guy in history can do. Just look at his gifs. How can people find that boring?

I'm no Floyd fan, but this comment is about style, not guts. We saw how he fought Cotto, and that wasn't someone who stunk it out. Likewise, I wouldn't say he stunk it out against Guerrero, though I do wish he would have stepped up the offense because he could have scored a stoppage.
