  • "I'm not going out there to take any punishment" - Floyd

Anyone else find this comment odd?

I'm all for boxers being defensively sound. God knows I hate seeing Juanma's defenceless ass getting knocked the ring.

But no-one else has an issue in the highest paid star in the sport just outright telling us that he doesn't want to engage?

This is boxing, for ****s sake.

Don't give me that sweet science stuff. Can you imagine Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, Frazier, Leonard, Duran telling us that they refuse to take punishment.

The Cotto fight really spooked Team Mayweather. I was looking forward to the Canelo fight immensely but it's going to be a pot-shot fest.

Say what you want about Broner but at least the kid wants to fight.

If everyone was as defensive minded as Floyd Mayweather, the sport really would be dead.

No, I just think its you... You wouldn't tell a chef to use a new ingredient to create his special sauce... Why would you tell Mayweather to use a new style, when his current style is a work of art?

this is one of my bigest problems with floyd ! he does the minimum work permitted in the ring , thus cheating fans out of their hard earned money ! mosty of mayweathers fights are snooze fests that no one in their right mind will rewatch because it is too much of a chore and to effing booooring ! but look at mannys fights with marquez , they are all classics that you can watch and re watch and rewatch again because its entertaining booth fighter go out and giv e it their alll !!! unlike floyd and broner who half ass their fights ! one runns around the ring like a chicken throwiing few punches here and there !!! while the other runs his moth while throwing few punches here and there !!! and to make matters worse they dont even knock out their opponents !!! bronner didnt knock out malinaggi , and mayweather couldnt knock out the ghost !!! and to top it off their both classless !!

It actually harder to not get hit than to hit someone..

Anyone can hit someone but not everyone can defend themselves correctly.

          Duran, Leonard, Hearns, Holyfield, Tyson.

These guys were "not cool". They shouldn't have taken punishment. They should have refused it.

They should have treated us to more "sweet science" pieces of "art" like the Guerrero fight.

Floyd wont even bother pretending to go toe to toe with his opponents now, as I doubt anyone will fall for that now.

He said he was going toe to toe with Guerrero to either sell tickets, or to fool Guerrero.

So Canelo needs to get advice from Guerrero on how to hit the elusive Floyd.

Oddly enough when you look at Leonard, Hearns, Holyfield, Tyson, Whitaker, etc. it's in their best wins where they didn't take a lot of damage and fought smartly and made them the ATGs they are

You've been here since 2007, and still sound clueless about boxing. Crazy.

                    I agree, mate. Green k.

It's asinine when people say boxing=Floyd! Fucc that! It it wasn't for brawlers, boxing would be dead.
