Banks had no plan B he can't fight for **** going forward so didn't even bother and Mitchell fought a safe boring fight.

yes it was obviously fixed. wlad wants back on hbo and mitchell is an opponent that hbo will show and make wlad look spectacular. banks will make much more training wlad to fight mitchell then anything else he can do on his own, and we know he's not fighting wlad obviously. this was a setup.

I felt at the time it was more about setting up a third bout between them and I think Banks has mentioned it since then but your Wlad theory isn't a bad one.
