  • The real scandal of last night - was Banks v Mitchell fixed?

Sorry to tear you away from discussing Broner's grill and dancing but let's talk about something which I think we need to discuss and not just get lost in the post Broner-Malignaggi fall out.

Did we witness a fixed fight last night? Now, I still lean towards it NOT being one - but then I don't have a conspiratorial mind. And I don't believe the upside of bribing Banks is worth it when I know Mitchell will be getting chin checked shortly anyway.

But some troubling questions emerged last night.

Why did Banks stop throwing power shots after round 5?

Why, when clearly down on the scorecards, is Banks content to create a gap between he and Seth that you could drive a bus through in round 12? With 30 seconds to go, why is he jabbing to Mitchell's chest, without looking for a second that he is looking to set something up?

Why would you be wary of a guy who you've already knocked out, hurt again.....and doesn't like has hurt you back?

Why would the trainer of the Heavyweight champion of the world fight such a ******ed, ****** fight?

A fighter may hurt one hand and rely on the other. But why did Banks refuse to punch with either hand?

Seriously, that fight needs to be thoroughly investigated.

    No question.

We witnessed a fixed fight last night. That's too bad for the fans that were at the arena that had no idea what was going on.

Not sure if it was fixed,, he did try and ko him a couple of times..

I do think that banks may have gotten hurt by mitchell, and shelled up, and hoped to catch him late, but mitchell showed some maturity and was very patient and that made banks no have any chance of catching him

      Just my opinion

Unless it emerges that Banks had injured both hands, it's very hard to come up with an explanation.

That's what I told my younger brother, I said Banks isn't even trying and Mitchell is extremely vulnerable, easy to hurt, easy to land combinations against and Banks was never in trouble. So why was Banks getting outpunched against Mitchell who is extremely slow on his feet, Banks at times even looked stronger during the clinches.

That said I'm shocked I actually watched that fight all the way, it felt like there was a fix.

Defiantly a fixed fight. Sad to see.

The fight was very weird. I felt banks could have stopped him literally anytime he wanted but threw like 3 punches a round. Something was off about the fight. If he wasnt injured, it did look like he was basically throwing the fight to me

When a level-headed poster like you thinks a fight is fixed, you know something isn't right.

To reiterate, while I may have created this thread, I'm still not 100% sure it was. However, that was the shadiest fight I have ever seen. If you know the rhythm of a fight, if you watched their first fight, if you heard Banks talk after the first fight how he could see all of Seth's mistakes, if you saw how he was hurting him with every power punch for a couple of rounds.......what happened after Round 5 was way way worse than a 117-111 scorecard in the Broner fight.

NOW.we're talking....I thought somebody slipped me some conspiracy cookies last night because I felt like I was watching a fixed fight as well....Banks could've stopped that bum again...we all saw it!!

Banks isn't gonna fight Wlad so it made sense to throw the fight from his perspective I guess
