Paulie edged it out 7 rounds to 5..... Al Haymon at his finest.

Paulie isn't given rounds because his punches have little-to-no effect. This is why I knew he couldn't possibly win, cuz Broner was gonna land the eye-catching shots and Paulie's high output and combinations would be forgotten. Broner was shrugging Paulie's punches off and shaking his head the entire fight. Paulie wasn't always landing clean, but he was landing a lot and I felt like Compubox wasn't an accurate representation of what I saw last night. I feel like Paulie landed at a higher % and Broner landed at a lower %.

During the fight I thought the ref should have deducted at least 2 points from Broner. One for throwing a punch on the break and the other a blatent knee to the head on an exchange.
Ref had no control over this fight. I actually was ok with the scorecard that said it was a draw. I don't think either guy really imposed their will on the other. Broner landed the cleaner punches but Pauli was busier and forced the action. I am ok with the Broner win plus at least with that 117-111 scorecard we know clearly which judge Haymon had in his pocket.

Have to disagree, Paulies punches were effective. Broner had to worry more about defense than his own offense, dictating the style for large portions the fight. Whats Malignagg suppose to do to be effective, trade with a puncher? No he's going to try and outwork Broner, keep him from getting off, and thats what he did for lorge portions of the fight.

If you scored on workrate I can see why you came to that conclusion but I guess those folks scored on so called " quality of punches."
