      Bottom line........

If you complained about Manny's CW against Cotto, you can't support Floyd's with Canelo, it's the exact same thing basically.

If you didn't complain about Manny's CW against Cotto and give him full credit being the better fight, which I always have, than you should do the same with Floyd.

If it's not like that, than you're just a double standard.

2 different breeds of fighter though. Hopkins takes his respect. Floyd expects respect to be given just because.

I don't like this catchweight but it's not exactly the same as Manny and cotto. in that fight cotto was the champion and manny was the challenger so he should not be able to demand a catchweight. secondly, wbo threatened to strip cotto if he didn't accept the catchweight. in this case, neither fighter is the challenger so they can negotiate as they see fit. if an agreement can't be made then they go their separate ways. no one gets stripped of their belt.

the difference is that cotto was forced to accept the catchweight while neither Floyd nor canelo had to.

You seem to think that makes it better. It doesn't, it makes it worse. Smaller guys ask for CW moving up all the time. Champs never ask for CW when defending their belt, much less when contesting for the Lineal belt. It makes sense, right, because they're admitting they can't compete on level ground, hence paper champ.

There are difference. For example, one is a 2x and current champ in the division he needs a CW for. Another difference is, Pac asked for his 1st CW in his 7th weight class, higher than anyone has gone. Floyd's limit are a bit lower.

But the one difference that will keep haters at it for years, only one of these guys $hat on the other for using them.

Almost forgot, another difference is Pac never contested for the Lineat title at a Catchweight

No, they should have decided 154. Both have/had a title at 154.

Totally agree. Flo mo's and Pac tard's are exactly the same. They use the same exact arguments against each other when the tides change. So funny lol

Alvarez will be fine at 152
not like he'd have a chance in hell if it was at 154
he's taking a gamble and it's well worth it career wise
losing means nothing to him here, so just go for it
Floyd shot himself in the foot, but the fight is just fine
