MMA can be entertaining to watch - apart from when it goes to the ground with too much grappling - but otherwise you can see some good strikes and knockouts with fists, elbows, knees, legs, feet in an MMA match. Ground game can be interesting from a technical perspective because there is a skill involved which as boxing fans we might find it difficult to notice or accept.
But MMA commentators (the former fighters) predict which move or hold the fighter is aiming for and they often get it right - it shows there are tactics on ground and that certain ground positions lead to logical holds or moves.. But, like I say, too much ground work just gets boring - fights which stay on the feet can be a blast.
I am so sick of this mma vs boxing debate.... They are 2 completely different sports,,, Its like trying to compare football and baseball or hockey and basketball....
If mma was easy to be good at, tons of boxers looking to make a name would go in and fight,, Same for boxing, if it is so easy tons of mma guys would try and be pro boxers...
