I wasn't aware of this one. Surely it must be the worst ever. Coggi should have lost one way or another three times inside a minute. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but did the bell ring to cut a round short by 20 seconds and then give a 2+ minute break between that and the next round in order to give Coggi time to recover? Ridiculous, and made even more sickening by the fact that Coggi made it through all of that and won by TKO.

Indeed it is. But given this countries history of colonialism and the major hand that it had in the slave trade in becomes particularly devoid of human sensibility when chanted at African Americans.

Now, I'm not stating that every Hatton fan in the crowd was singing it to be purposely malicious or was even aware of the significance of what they were singing (although many were).

What I am stating is that that kind of behaviour isn't lost on those who are subject to its insensitivity. Particularly in a country that has a long history of slavery and carried out a successful revolution again British tyranny.

(As a side note: I have no reason to pull a 'Pathetic attempt at trying to play the race card'. I'm in a relative position of privilege. I'm white and British. However, I'm not ignorant of issues of race.)

Oh you know what? You're right. Also when they were singing "Walking in a Hatton Wonderland", it was blatantly flaunting the fact that African Americans used to be denied the chance to walk freely as they were shackled by their feet during the slave trade. Obviously!

I agree with some of the comments that you make in other threads (particularly on tactical awareness) even when you're being shouted down by a tide of opposition, but on this one . . .
