I rewatched Mattyhse-Alexander and scored the fight 95-94 for Matthyse. However, the fight was razor thin and could have gone either way. I posted my official scorecard below:

Round 1: Devon Alexander 10-9: Alexander controls distance and lands more effective shots in the round. Matthyse walked into a few shots.

Round 2: Devon Alexander 10-9: Devon controls distance again. Matthyse landed solid right hand mid way during the round. Alexander returns a hook which temporarily stuns Matthyse.

Round 3: Lucas Matthyse 10-9: Matthyse lands only meaningful punch of round. Rest of the round uneventful. Alexander uses a lot of movement, but most of it wasted energy.

Round 4: Lucas Matthyse 10-8: Matthyse rounds. Floors Alexander with straight right under Alexander’s right jab. Alexander was not hurt. More of a flash knockdown type situation.

Round 5: Devon Alexander: 10-9. Pretty ineffective round by both. Alexander wins by being more active fighter. Tied Matthyse up a lot and smothered Matthyse’s counters.

Round 6: Devon Alexander 10-9: Could’ve gone either way. I gave it to Alexander based on activity. He “shoe-shined” his way throughout most of the round. Matthyse landed solid body shots in this round. Tough round to score.

Round 7: Lucas Matthyse: 10-9: Dominant round for Lucas. Landed most of his power shots and slowed Alexander down.

Round 8: Lucas Matthyse 10-9: Another strong round for Matthyse. Period.

Round 9: Devon Alexander 10-9: Alexander clearly outboxed Matthyse in this round. Matthyse looked sloppy and lunged a lot with his punches. Alexander hit without being hit much.

Round 10: Lucas Matthyse 10-9: Close round. Matthyse lands cleaner shots. Alexander moving too much.

My Final scorecard: 94 Alexander - 95 Matthyse
Ledderman’s card: 94 Alexander – 95 Matthyse

Danny Garcia gets hate for 3 main reasons.

1 his father bad mouthing other fighters. fans of his opponents don't like that and this leads to point 2 .

2 Khan and Morales fans are not happy with him for beating up their fighter especially khan fans as the KO has exposed Khan and the illusion of his greatness has now lost all credability.

3 The fact he has not signed to fight Matthysse and appears to be ducking him.

I'll go back and score Matthyse vs. Alexander. But from my recollection, Matthyse didn't look as dominant as Tim Bradley did when he BEAT Devon.

Every commentator worth listening to agrees that he won both fights and lost them because they fought in their city. A mistake Lucas didn’t repeat when Peterson wanted to fight in his home town too. Not only did he win and got robbed, since then he’s improved, maybe fueled by anger and injustice? And is now ****ing opponents up. That being said, its just not cool that they stole those fights from him just because he wasn’t local.

My parting shot is if Matthyse is so much better and hits harder than Danny Garcia then why didn't he look as impressive against Judah? Judah was legitimately in survival mode 90% of the fight against Danny.

He won the in the eyes of most of us, and its not as if it’s the first time a boxer gets robbed like that. Had it been Danny they would have given his the Judah fight but that’s ok. Lucas is thankful for those fights though, now he knows he has to start on full murder mode rather than boxing. If they both face each other again it would be nice to see payback a la Martinez vs Paul Williams II.
