Comments Thread For: Warren Reveals £200,000 Offer; Quigg Eyes WBA Crown

Frank Warren cut to the chase on Saturday afternoon by exclusively revealing to BoxingScene the exact purse offer he made to Scott Quigg for a September showdown with Carl Frampton. Warren sent an email through to Eddie Hearn, Quigg’s promoter, on Thursday. It was confirmed by Hearn during a conversation with me later that evening and also by the fighter himself, who discussed and dismissed the offer earlier today.

Hearn and Quigg have both insisted that the offer was sent to gain exposure for Warren and Frampton, a claim that Warren’s Boxing Manager Andy Ayling denied during an interview on Friday. Ayling cited the promoter’s weekly column in The Sun as an indication that he does not have to resort to publicity stunts. This argument was reiterated by Warren during today’s conversation. Seems like quite a low offer for such a big domestic fight.

Another self-serving press release by Warren. Half of the comments are about how great he is, the other half of the comments are him saying he doesn't need to do press releases telling people how great he is.

The only two fights he mentions having actually made is putting Chisora in with Haye (Chisora had nothing to lose and a lot of money to gain), and putting Clev against Bellew which was an in-house fight where most people disagreed with the judges decision and Warren refused to make a rematch and instead did his best to make meaningless fights for both until one of them left him.

It seems to me that Hearn is unwilling to work with Warren at the present time, and so Warren is making offers that he knows aren't likely to be accepted so he can use it as an excuse for when his fighters end up facing one hand-picked opponent after another. After the pathetic stunt where Warren held a press conference for Chisora-Wilder despite knowing it wasn't happening I can't see how anyone takes any of his ****** fight offers seriously.

Did he show them the 'e-mails'? Ha ha ha.

        Go away, Frank.

Frank is stinking of desperation recently. Slowly becoming irrelevant and I think becoming more bitter by the day.

Warren constantly telling everyone about his "offers" just makes him look bad because it indicates people don't want to work with him.

Frank Warren is finished! He's turned into a desperate promoter, trying anything to get his name in print. The problem is he's in denial. Spouting off about how he doesn't need Sky's money.....but he wants their exposure! Matchroom have said they won't fight on Boxnation. Probably because there are less than 100,000 Boxnation subscribers in comparison to millions of Sky Sports subscribers.

I like the fact we've got a dedicated boxing channel but the content really needs to improve. Yes it's great when they have a good night of boxing but 99% of the time it's an american show that's being streamed via Boxnation, not one of Frank Warren's events!

All he talks about are the Cleverley v Bellew and Haye v Chisora as if they were blockbuster fights when neither were that good really.

Quite funny that Warren is getting stick for making fight offers.

Everyone seems to be in love with Eddie Hearn but I remember his words about Scott Quigg "needing" Carl Frampton. What happened to that?

You can bet your mortgage that if it was Warren turning down offers from Matchroom, he'd be getting all kinds of abuse.

I agree with all this. It is the latest craze to belittle everything that Warren says, yet the slimy toad that is Hearn is the supposed saviour of British boxing !!
Barry Hearn is a twat and his son is the same!!
I cannot stand Hearn or Warren, but lets get real neither one is in it for the fighter!!!!
