the reason was simple. He started making too much money so quick into his career without ever fighting someone good. After he beat de leon he probably taught that with his power it will just be enough to beat his opponents. he got babied and was protected by his promoter. trust me the salido fight wasn't suppose to turn out the way it did. salido was supposed to be a stepping stone for juanma. lopez became hotheaded so simpleBeautiful KO from Garcia.
This kid is really special and I've been impressed ever since I first saw him fight. He has a very mature style, doesn't get reckless, and his jab is a beauty. The P4P list is a certainty.
At this point in his career Lopez needs to retire. He has no balance, no head movement, and his chin is a big target. The way he throws that left hand to the body is extraordinarily sloppy and it's scary how he brings his head straight up after it. A walking KO. It's a shame how his career has turned out because at one point I thought he was going to be special, but this is boxing where special fighters can become has-beens over night.

my man Juanma went out like a "G" though.....he's just not on the same boxing planet as Mikey....I knew it would probably end like this but I still had Juanma....I just like the dude...he's flawed as **** but I still rock with him!!American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas - Mikey Garcia (32-0, 27KOs) stopped former two division world chamion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez (33-3, 30KOs) in the fourth round. Garcia's jab was touching Juanma in the first. Lopez was able to land a few good lefts. In the second, Garcia started landing his own left hand. But then out of nowhere a counter right hand sent Juanma down on his seat. Juanma made it up and survived the round. Garcia started landing his hands go in the third and tagging Juanma with hard punches.

So you are gonna judge him based on his last fight where he looked disinterested and not wanting to be there! I mean think about it your 23-0 former world champ who got strip bc of bs, then you have promotion problems, don't fight for over a year and your match up is darley Perez in Canada!! Get the **** out of here!!! Plus Gamboa jumps up 2 weight classes and that was his first time in a the new weight class...but you have also seen an explosive Gamboa with quick hands, bad aas foot work and knockout power in both hands!! The guy has accomplished greatest in every level he has competed in including Olympic gold as in amateur and world champion as a pro so if you think Mikey is gonna run over Gamboa your crazy especially in a weight class where Gamboa has dominated!! You mention all these things about Mikey but Gamboa has superior speed, foot work and is more explosive. When or if they fight you will see Gamboas quality just like Donaire experienced when he fought Rogondeaux!!!Someone thats a stronger puncher than you with better defense and work ethic. Also better IQ = an ass beating thats what garcia has over gamboa. Better gameplan gamboa has looked like **** his las couple fights and has been dropped how many times in his career???? You think garcia can't drop him?
Gamboa is not abril gamboa gets bit way to much and tires quick when hit to the bidy did u even see his last fight????Comment

YOU are you talking about the same Bam Bam that CAN'T box!!! The guy got out fcuking boxed by MIKE ALVARADO!!! gtfh with that ****...if him and Abril boxed 10 times Abril schools him all 10!! Bc rios can't box nor can he adapt to his opponent. His boxing iq is zero hell he can't even talk...the guy sounds ******ed!!WE both know that Bam Bam didnt take Abril serious. He was all like, "FUCC IT, I'LL JUST **** MY WIFE, AND GO FIGHT THIS BUM." You don't wanna see a rematch, homie. You don't, 'cause we will know what will happen to Abril. So hope & pray that it doesn't happen.
And, please, Cantboa is a coward. Bam Bam went to his back yard, and the fool flew across the country to hide from him. Look at him now ... broke! Selling his **** on ebay just to get by. Very sad, but that's what he gets for ducking The Beast 2 aka Bam Bam.
The Beast is no bum. He will break Cantboa's chin for good. Just look at him, he gets dropped by bums. The Beast will shatter that **** for good. Mark my words. I hope it gets made so I can be there live. I will be the one holding a sign that reads: Cantboa Doing Big Thangs.

Dont' take it the worng way. I like Mikey, but beating Salido and now Juanma is just not impressive to me. I'll say this though, from what I have seen of this kid he has the tools to go a long way. He is very talented.Comment

Mikey did what he was expected to do, but I couldn't believe how bad Juanma looked. It was almost upsetting to see what a shambles he was, just stumbling around the ring throwing sloppy arm punches with his head flying up in the air anytime he got hit.
No shame in losing to Mikey Garcia but when you look like that in the process it may be time to start thinking about doing something else.Comment

He looked horrible in his last two fights against bums. He is done, stick a fork in him. At one point in his career he was fun to watch. He will never be the same fighter. And hopefully he got a good pay day and he can retire.Comment

Juanma's peak came and went very quickly. He looked even worst than ever. Mikey did what he had to do with very little effortComment

Out with the old in with the new.
I also thought at a point that Juan Ma would do some special things in the ring.
I would not count him out totally. He is fortunate that at least his problems are happening when he has some years still left. He needs to retool and do things differentlyComment
