It's a sad reality but the facts are, Roy Jones Jr. tested positive for steroids. And he - along with Richard Hall - got away because the ISAC didn't have any set laws in place for punishment. Whatever they did have was swept under the rug.
I know some will argue that the B sample came back negative (when did they re-test him?) and that what he was caught with wasn't terrible but it was illegal. The fact that both fighters got caught with their pants down shows what's cooking under the lid. Honestly, it should be obvious to all but baseball fans were just as oblivious as their stars got bigger (literally) while shattering every record. Will we continue to do the same? We can bury our heads in the sand or we can give this issue a proper burial.
One glaring note - I don't believe Roy Jones was involved in the BALCO scandal. That's quite an assertion. And the first time I've seen it on a credible site. Why was his name never mentioned before?Comment

The BALCO expose happened btween Jones's fights with Ruiz and Tarver, and he hasn't been the same since.I find it hard to believe that losing 15 lbs of muscle will make a fighter completely shot.Comment

There was no connection. The names came out already. So I'm not sure why he's inventing things. Roy Jones wasn't the only fighter to fall off in 2003. If the writer believes there's a connection...why not do your research and find out? There was none.Comment

BALCO labs were raided and the names taken. Shane Mosley was the only boxer on the list. End of story. Very, very bad fact-checking by the author. I can see how a message board poster might see "Jones" and assume it was Roy but it takes a simple click and a couple calls to verify that it was Marion.Comment

I've seen several list from the european BALCO counterparts (primarily cyclingrelated) and all the names were coded and not all was decrypted.Comment
