He is a 5'9" natural middleweight. I dont even want to see this fight. Golovkin should stay at middleweight

Depends, is he struggling to make 160? Is he having troubles getting fights at 160? And has he found at 168 before? I personally wouldn't encourage him to fight Ward at 168 and it has nothing to do with the weight, just that Ward would box his head off.

Size would be the last of GGG's problems against Ward, he spars cruiserweights and heavyweights. He would cearly be the harder puncher in the ring. The thing GGG would have to worry about is Ward's intelligence and nullifying tactics.

I don't even understand why people are talking about this fight so prematurely, GGG hasn't even defeated a top MW. It might be because Kellerman's dumb ass mentioned that matchup.

Yes he would be too small, he's smaller than Abraham who lost ANYTHING he had when he moved up because he was a midget compared to the rest of them

But the ward fans will want to see it and claim it a great win regardless

Unlike Abraham GGG doesn't rely just on his power, he has great technique, he cuts off the ring like no one else in the game, and he puts his opponents under constant pressure. With that being said, I still believe it's a little to early to fight Ward, GGG has to beat top MW first, then guy like Kessler or Froch and then Ward who is far above other SMW's

No reason for GGG to fight Ward now. Besides it would look bad on Andre's part fighting a smaller man right after he drained Dawson.

Abraham was not a one dimensional puncher at 160, he was actually quite a skilled counterpuncher

but it's hard to counterpunch when all your opponents reach is so much longer

                  What Ward fans?

Ward will smother Golovkin's offence. It's not a good style match-up for GGG (or many other fighters to be honest).

People undersestimate Wards size. He really is a big, tall, strong fighter.

Dont think GGG will be able to outpower him
