    More Skilled, More Tested...Absolutely!

Only thing Canelo has over Guerrero is weight and power, but he is much slower then Guerrero and probably more flat footed

Now you guys are saying he even fought at 150 so no problem for Canelo making weight. ....he failed to make the limit of 150, when he came in at 151.4 on the scale (2nd try).

Well for one, that fight with Hatton was like 2.5 years ago. For a young fighter that is a long time ago. Still he came in over ....Canelo was fighting at WW the year before that .... Now add to that Canelo came in at 172 against Trout and has stamina issues .... so perhaps even making 154 can be difficult .... going down to make that limit of 152 can't be a good thing for Canelo.

Let's hope he looks good and doesn't have to work too hard to make weight.
You sound like a b!tch dude, you wanted a 147 pounder to fight a guy who comes in the ring at 172, you thought that was fair. And now you're complaining about a 152 catch weight, you're not gonna be satisfied so just chill the **** out and don't watch the fight if it's a problem that Floyd want's a catchweight with a guy who'll outweigh him by 20+ pounds.

canelo doesn't have a chance at beating floyd..i'd be surprised if canelo even wins more than 4 rounds.

the fact is canelo doesn't have the style to trouble mayweather, he doesn't have the stamina to pressure floyd for 12 rounds, doesn't have the experience at the top level to even prove he can hang with an elite fighter...also on top of this his chin is untested, and imo his power is VERY overrated.

only redeeming qualities in canelo is he's young, he does have quick hand speed and nice combinations and he comes into the ring at 170lbs...but if you can't out think floyd or overwhelm him with activity then you're not beating him.

Canelo has few advantages to begin with. Floyd made sure that Canelo will need to work harder to make weight. If Canelo struggled 2.5 years ago and came in at 151.8 then don't you think he will struggle even more now to make 152? You don't seem to mind that do you?

Floyd has a title at 154. Canelo has 2. When was the last time that there were 3 titles on the line where both had titles at the same division and there was a CW? If Floyd never fought at 154, I can understand but he has and it was his previous fight to Guerrero. Floyd fought Oscar and Cotto and had no issues and Floyd and his fans even criticized fighters who use CWs when he fought at 154 and said I make my fighters fight at their comfortable weight!!!

Floyd and his fans were laughing until now about CWs even though Manny had just moved up 3 divisions in a year and calling 2lbs a drain on Cotto .... now it's all OK because it's Floyd.

By the way, this is a discussion forum about boxing so that is where we bring up these points. If you are all defensive about your hero then you came to the wrong forum!

Would'nt the fairest thing to do then would be to have both fighters weigh in at 154 one hour before the fight. This would eliminate any weight advantage for either fighter

They used to have same day weigh-ins but they changed it for a reason. If they weighin, as you say, one hour before the fight then you may have weight drained fighters fighting with no time to recover and that can be dangerous.

What probably would have been a better thing is to have Canelo not come in heavier than for example, 168. At least this way, if Canelo is drained and can't make 154 then its Canelo's fault and nobody can blame Floyd. Not the best thing, that is for sure but I would think more acceptable than a CW.

titere vazequez is right now one of the best technicians in the world, but still not enough to consider canelo elite yet, he is 22 and plenty of time to get there..

If Alvarez averages more than 30 or 40 punchers per round he'll surprise the **** out of me. That's for sure.

You're right, no one averages those kind of numbers vs Floyd and Canelo has a huge disadvantage in speed and questionable stamina, he won't be the first
