When he is using his legs versus sitting in the pocket, Floyd tends to step to his right off of his opponents jab, to avoid a right hand and counter. A big part of Castillos success was that he was hooking off the jab and cutting the ring off well. In fact, if anyone remembers back when Floyd used to come on FNF before his Brian Kenny blow out, he himself mentioned how well Castillo hooked off the jab.
Castillo’s style was very loose and long whereas Canelo is not. He tends to fight very compact. He makes his arms look even shorter that they are. I just don’t see Canelo being able to keep Floyd in front of him long enough to land well. Plus Canelos is a short 154 pounder, so its not like he will have the height advantage that ODL had.Comment

A lot of your points are spot on, but a lot of them are not. I don't know about Floyd being injured pre-fight, but I do remember him bringing it up to his corner in the middle of the fight if I'm not mistake, his rotater cuff in his shoulder. But that's neither here nor their. This is obviously the most competitive fight in Floyd's unblemished record so of course it warrants a closer look for fans to determine who actually won. I've watched it several times and I continue to score it for Floyd, the 1st 6 rounds were relatively easy, and the latter rounds were very very competitive, and I think the judges undermined Castillo's work to the body, never the less, I scored it a Floyd win, even more so in the rematch, but you are spot on in saying that Castillo had a bit of a drop after being beat the 1st time. As far as the Paul Williams fight, that's laughable. Paul Williams, god bless him, but he's never been one of my favorites. His fighting style was plain idiotic and he had an even dumber trainer. Paul has beaten nobody to warrant a fight with Floyd, and as far as I can remember, they never made any serious calls to the Mayweather camp for a potential fight. Paul was a tall fighter that fought like he was 4 feet tall, and that cost him. He got beat by Martinez twice, and got beat down by Lara. Paul wouldn't of stood a chance against Floyd, but of course that's just my opinion.People have been pulling excuses for Floyd on that fight since before it even happened.
Facts:
1. Floyd did not want to fight Castillo, he was forced to and it started the collapse with Arum. Even Floyd's trainer is on record stating they did not like the matchup and did not want the fight.
2. What was Floyd's injury? Because he only became injured after people ringside started saying he should've lost that fight..how convenient.
3. Saying what happened in the second fight somehow nulls out any debate about the first fight is complete and utter noob logic. Castillo was never the same fighter mentally after he felt he was robbed in that fight. He isn't the first of last fighter to completely never recoup from taking a controversial loss.
Now as a fan of the sport, I have seen that first fight over and over again. Only truly blind fanboys can say that first fight was not debatable and had Mayweather been anyone else he in all likelihood would not have walked out of there with the win. Here is another interesting bit, the only other challenger to floyd with an unorthodox fight style that didn't give away reach advantage to Floyd was Paul Williams and because of that Floyd never fought Paul...interesting...now please give me an excuse as to why Floyd wouldn't fight Paul. I'll give you ten reasons why he refused to fight him.Comment

Ahhhh so the scorecards don't count for the first fight but you evidence them for the second? Hmmmmmmmmm.I like how people say Mayweather beat Castillo easily in the 2nd fight when in reality the scorecards were closer than the 1st time. I'm never gonna stop saying that Castillo Should've won that 1st fight and in the 2nd fight he let the fight go away in the last couple of rounds. The best version of Castillo would've given Mayweather problems every time they'd face.
You and your "facts"People have been pulling excuses for Floyd on that fight since before it even happened.

Complaining because people make excuses, then making an excuse. Tight logic.People have been pulling excuses for Floyd on that fight since before it even happened.

I 100% disagree about Floyd Vs Paul. Floyd would have stood no chance against Paul Williams, not 1 top WW wanted any part of P Will..rather it was Mosley, Oscar, Pacquiao, nor Floyd.A lot of your points are spot on, but a lot of them are not.
