If they show more fights like the Gamboa vs Perez fight, they'll definitely need a new strategy, Showtime has been having the better fights all year long.

I think half the people that watch boxing on HBO aren't actively following boxing so much as they "enjoy it when its on."

Most people I know that have showtime, have it exclusively for boxing. (then again, most people I know are boxing fans . . . So my data clearly has a bias
      I totally agree here

Showtime replays fights at 10 weakly. Almost every other Friday there's showbox, showcasing up-n-coming fighters. On most championship cards there are preliminary fights on show extreme, equaling to roughly 5 fights a night.

I have them both and I find it safe to say that showtime absolutely bosses on hbo.

          End thread right here.

Majority of HBO subscribers subscribe not because of boxing.
They subscribe because of HBO's regular programming. Boxing
          is just a bonus.

You guys are hating on hbo but this month we will have Dawson v Stevenson; mike Garcia v. Juanma; ggg v. Macklin... That is pretty comparable to showtime's month

That is a good month of boxing for all though

And after the one card in July, there's nothing on regular hbo scheduled for the rest of the year.

I don't understand why some boxing fans don't have both, most tv providers will throw in Showtime for like 15 bucks every three months.

They can hate all they want but HBO will always be Superior to Showtime know matter how ****tttyyyy the card is. They need to get use to it.

I'm not hating on HBO, I have both, (HBO for GoT and Newsroom and boxing) and showtime mostly for boxing.

But Showtime has been having the better fights/cards for 2013 so far. Honestly awhile back, HBO started declining, it seemed there were 2 or 3 good fights a year, and a lot of Top Prospect vs Bum fights that really should have been on ESPN.

Do you have both?? I do And I know as far as sports in general is concerned Showtime destroys hbo. Fights every week day. New fights mostly every other friday and prelim fights on show extreme. If you don't have them both then I consider it a clueless assumption to favor hbo. If you do have them both and still feel that way then your obviously loco.
