Vic is a strong boy - with the exception of Floyd I believe he has dropped every opponent he's faced.

This is assuming everyone understands that Vic is a big at his weight and boils down to 140 and 147

I think Ortiz is well conditioned if nothing else and he used as much of his strength as he could because skills weren't getting him anywhere... Floyd did seem to handle it well (I agree he didn't need the sucker punch - Ortiz quit imo) but Ortiz did seem to impose himself at least physically a few times

The only thing I've noticed is that CAnelo needs to plant his feet to throw his powerful punches... I can imagine Floyd upsetting his rhythm and either beating to the punch or moving to make him reset.

It was funny to see Guerrero cutting of the ring backing Floyd against the rope or a corner and STILL not letting his hands go but just twitchin like Mosely did. Making you unsure to throw your punches it what Floyd does best.

Floyd will lower CAnelos output even further if he fights his usual "patient" style - I feel he needs to pressure but I don't think he's got the stamina for it.

Maybe they can find a gap? ****m and Mosley did but they could finish with it and Floyd never gave it to him again after that.

NO. Ortiz is big and was 164 vs Floyd but Canelo is still naturally bigger & stronger. He was 172 agains Trout and is still young so he will be bigger in the future. Ortiz has power but I still think Canelo is way more heavy handed.

Ortiz is also a Southpaw which helps with the knockdowns. He backed Floyd against the ropes some but alot of that was Floyd just fighting a more aggressive style. He doesnt do that under Senior. Mosley caught Floyd but that was a Floyd who was always inactive & rusty. That wont be the case in September

It tells you nothing because Ortiz is not as strong or fast as Canelo and does not hit as hard or fight as well as Canelo. Lopez, who fought them both just months apart said Canelo is faster, harder to hit, punches harder and is a much better fighter than Ortiz. Canelo takes a punch better and has never been knocked down in over 40 pro fights. Most important of all is that Canelo is calm and smart in the ring and won't quit. Ortiz is not a very smart fighter and he does not respond well to adversity.The ****** things Ortiz did in his fight with Floyd include obvious, deliberate head butts, followed by kissing and hugging Floyd and then dropping his guard and getting KOed. None of those things would ever happen to Canelo. He is a real pro and he fights clean as does Mayweather in my opinion.

GTFO Ortiz is fast for a brawler. But Alvarez is a much more faster man. He doesnt telegraph, his punches just dart out. Alvarez is much more stronger as well. Ortiz is a strong, and big WW. A strong ww, is different from a strong jrmw. Ortiz trains at 147 and comes in at 164. Alvarez trains at 154, and IF he were to come in at 160, lighter than Ortiz, it would be MUCH different from fighting a strong ww.

he backed floyd on the ropes because floyd let him back him on the ropes. he was completely ineffective when he got him there, which is why floyd wanted him to do it and tire out

I believe Ortiz is physically a tad smaller than Canelo but hits harder I believe. Ortiz may be a lot of things but he can punch, I give him that. Canelo is definitely more skilled though and way more solid mentally of course. Canelo still has to plant his feet to throw with power and use his combinations. If he lands them consistently good for him but I am not sure if he will be fluid and fast enough to do so effectively. Canelo showed some improved head movement against Trout but he was still relatively easy to hit and Trout is nowhere near the precision puncher Floyd is nor as fast. Trout doesn't have great footwork either to be honest. That being said, I still Canelo is going to be a tall order for Floyd, which I know many don't believe. I admit I will be somewhat surprised if Floyd beats Canelo easily. I think this is going to be a good fight and we will see Floyd have to deliver another superior performance to win. I think Canelo is the real deal and his is very mature and mentally strong for his age so I am not sure he is going to crack to be honest. If Floyd easily beats Canelo it is basically just going to take some haymaker bomb for someone to beat Floyd, say from a Thurman or a Matthysse. I just cannot see anyone 147-154 outboxing and outperforming Floyd for 12 rounds as he performs right now.
