Yeah seriously, Danny is so underrated by so many on nsb. Maybe after he cripples Matthysse they will show him some love.

I'm getting kicked off of boxingscene if he cripples Matthysse. Ill gladly settle for a victory in a competive slugfest though.

I dont even think Garcia is a better boxer than Matthysse... Power aside... Matthysse IS the better boxer imo..


I like both of these guys but Garcia might have even slower feet than Matthysse let alone the fact he mostly has to set his feet before punching where Lucas can punch while moving a bit, and since he has so much power it still seems damaging if his feet arent set.

The thing is Lucas seems like a crude come forward brawler but a lot of the people (here included) only see the ounc but dont notice his subtleties and how he set the punch up with feints/traps and how deceiving his defense is with the way he catches punches or rolls with them.

Danny is no bum but his thing has been catching people in the exchange and this isnt Kahn or an old Morales you can let yourself get outboxed til you start catching them as they hit you. Danny has some tools that COULD help him, but Danny is quite frankly not a good enough boxer to keep someone like Matthysse up (or Rios for that matter). Now is he strong enough to earn Matthsse's respect? And even if he DoES hit hard enough there's just guys you cant intimidate even with power and at 140 there seems to be two guys who are machine like in their approach (Lucas and Rios seem to be supremely confident and dont seem to waiver)...

Lucas just seems like a bad matchup for Danny imo. Danny has what seems like less power...a slightly lesser chin, doesnt have a speed advantage AND might have even less defense than Lucas... not to mention he wings his power shots maybe even more than Lucas... I'm curious as to what his plan will be though as he IS fairly disciplined in his approach to whatever plan they have.
