I don't believe any boxers fights the way they do to please the fans. They fight the way they do because that's what they know and most of them have been fighting that way their whole careers. You would have to be a total idiot to take punishment for the fickle fans of boxing.

Listen everybody, I like Lara, I really do, I think he's a world class and a top legit contender on the 154lbs, but you can't say that comin from 2 knock downs you were on your way to victory, Lara had problems on Saturday and you could watch it, Credit to him for coming back from those 2 kd and hurting Angulo, but I don't think he's that elite. IMHO he doesn't beat neither Trout nor Canelo, and I'm not into Canelo's hype wagon, because I see a lot of mistakes on him. But based not just on Saturday's performance, but on his last performances against, Molina and Vanes I really think he needs to reinforce his defense work. His fight against Williams was superb, yet he got robbed, but that's how boxing sometimes goes these days.

I think his big flaw is that he doesn't react well to pressure, he doesn't have the tools to be a great defensive fighter, I can tell you right now, Austin Trout is more slickier than Lara, and Trout reacts excellent to pressure.
If today's Canelo were to fight Lara, I think Canelo would have a very tough night, yet he would catch Lara with powerful shots that would send him to the canvas, and Canelo would pick more his punches to finish him off, that's a bad thing I always watched on Angulo's fights, he ain't that good at finishing opponents.

If Lara polishes his defense game, he will be a nightmare for anyone at 154lbs and 160lbs, if he doesn't he'll be a tough dude for anyone, yet he won't be elite.

Angulo's fans are delusional, what just happen was little puppy quitted, walked away, run away like little puppy.
the "what If", "maybe", all nonsense don't count, fact is LARA sent him to the hospital.

This post just reinforces my point. Why would a fighter, fight to entertain the fans when the fans are like this ^^^^^^^^^

That is what I saw. He cracked him a couple of times and Angulo stopped coming forward. A couple of times I seen his knees bend after a couple of shots. People also forget about the cut he had as well but nah Lara has Paulie type power.

But getting stunned and getting hurt and dropped are two diffrent things. Lara is a good boxer but come on I love perro and all but the guy is limited in the skill department. Alfredo's a big puncher but the fact that he could land so many slow lumbering punchs on Lara exposed some serious defensive flaws in Erislandy!

i don't believe so,there are boxers who have skills but give fans a good fight, marquez is one of them, broner another one, broner doesn't run and hug,he has good defense but is exciting, you can have skills and be exciting, but some have skills and and aren't exciting .. there are fighters who aren't even hurt and could ko their opponents but don't do it like gamboa did against perez who wouldn't even really throw anything at gamboa, yeah there are fighters who might be limited like angulo is,but there are those like I mentioned who are highly skilled but crowd pleasers, they know what most of the fans want, they know how expensive it can be to go to these events and want to please them,i can't imagine paying 60 to get a ppv with gamboa, titere Vazquez and mike jones on that card,no way

Not an Angulo fan actually, I like Lara more, you see sad thing about people like you, almost sure you've never been in a real life fight, and you don't know how badly an orbital borken hurts, My mouth was half stitched from a fight long ago, broken nose (hurts very bad), and swolleness above my eyes, yet a friend of mine that has had similar injuries told me that orbital broken is painful as hell and don't compare to things like these.

Have more respect for the man who laced up his gloves and steeped into the ring you motha****a keyboard warrior *****.

Lara reacted fine to the pressure. He didn't panic, get dirty or clinch excessively. Could he have reacted better? Sure, but we've seen fighters completely crumble under pressure and Lara didn't. Lara got up from the KDs and continued to stick and move as if he never hit the canvas.
