I wanna' think that were Chad to eat a big-pizza-pie-plate of crow and beg forgiveness, his old trainer Ice John might take him back and he would have a chance at a comeback.
I think Chad is most likely done as a top fighter. He may earn a few more solid wins but his better days are far behind him. It seems like his punch resistance is gone and I don't see the hunger in his eyes. It's obvious that he trained his butt off because he was in tip top shape but I think he's no longer in top form mentally. Dawson has been knocked out in his last two fights plus there were whispers of him being knocked out in sparring by Edison Miranda before the Ward fight. I wish him the best but this situation reminds me of Roy Jones.
Side note: I don't even remember Dawson asking for a rematch after the fight (could be wrong). When Stevenson came over to talk to him, Chad didn't even look him in the eye. He's clearly a fighter without confidence.
This....Dawson has obvious skill but he doesn't like fighting anymore
When did he like fighting? Chads major problem has always been his intelligence. Hes just not a very smart person in general. I mean for Floyd Mayweather Sr. to call you ******ed, you know you have to be slow.
I would say yes. Because of the 2 stoppages? No. He was clearly weight drained vs Ward and looked like crap, then he was caught with a good punch by Stevenson (although I think he showed bad punch resistance there)
The main problem with Chad is his mentality. He's mentally fragile and weak. Also he's already 30 and took a ****** decision by going down to 168, that clearly took a toll on his body.
Dawson may have a drug habit.......got that vibe about him. He doesn't seem to handle adversity too well and he seems mentally weak. Those types are always looking elsewhere for the problem when it is inevitably their own lifestyle choices that see them on the backside of their careers.
