    BoxingScene.com has been advised that Juan Carlos Sanchez did not make weight for tonight's bout with Robert Domingo Sosa at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The IBF super flyweight title is now vacant.

    From what BoxingScene understands, Sanchez came in at 116-pounds. He came back an hour later, per the rules of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and weighed in at 115.5-pounds. As far as the NSAC is concerned, Sanchez's official weight is 115.5.

      0.2 lbs AND told he made weight. I actually feel bad for the guy. That royally sucks.

        We don't know if he actually was told he made weight though, everyone would say that if it was just 0.2lbs. As for the 0.2lbs, the rules are the rules, he knew them when he signed the contract, it's only fair they strip him if he fails to make weight, regardless of by how much.

          basically overweight by 3 ounces. I can clear that much by blowing my nose in the Nevada desert.

            Sure sucks, but you gotta follow the rules. What happens next time when a boxer comes in .2 over? what about .3 or .4?
