I agree with everything you said but I think even this washed up version of Jones can easily beat this MMA superstar and that would be something I would like. Boxing's eye can't get any blacker than it was after Toney's pathetic MMA showing. I liked the way Mayorga performed in the MMA. A boxer being DQed for fighting to rough for the MMA and hurting their guy. I loved that.

Dana White won't let this happen. Why, because Silva would get his ass handed to him. And THAT would be bad press for the UFC when it's elite fighter gets topped by a has been (albeit once great) smaller light heavyweight fighter in RJJ. I would PAY to see this though!

Being considered a "good boxer" in MMA is like being a smart kid in remedial class.
You are right about 99.9% of MMA fighters, but Silva is truly special. He is among the 2-3 best strikers in the history of MMA and could beat many journeymen and experienced club fighters based on his reflexes, athleticism, toughness, and emotional maturity in big fights. Roy of even 5 years ago would have smoked Silva in a boxing match and the Roy of 10 -15 years ago could let Silva wear MMA gloves, but this version of Roy no longer has elite athleticism and is somewhat chinny. He is an absolute shell of his former physical self. I would still pick Roy to edge him, but I doubt it will be an embarrassment for Silva.

Because Roy Jones is Silva's idol.

The only way Silva thinks he'll be a complete fighter is if he faces (and possibly defeats) his idol.
