Wait. People still care about this fight? Pacquiao is almost washed up.

More technical? I don't think so. He's more patient, lacks true speed to match mayweather, has huge stamina issues and has also not faced much serious opposition besides trout and old Mosley (who he couldn't knock down but Pacquaio could).
I'd honestly say he's less of a threat because if Canelo can't go for 12 rounds 24/7 Mayweather will dodge and glide to an easy unanimous decision. Also, trying body shots on Mayweather I don't think is going to do much, Mayweather is one of the few fighters today among others that are gifted with very high stamina and durability, he will still be able to do what he always does, and I can bet his form of defense will nullify Canelos body shots mostly.
Lastly, I don't even like Mayweather, but I'm pretty sure Canelo isn't going to win. Just my opinion anyway.Comment

People all seem to forget Manny actually looked better than he has for a while and better than he ever has against Marquez in the fight before the KO.
I expect Manny to obliterate Rios in spectacular exciting fashion. TBH Manny will still be the most appealing fight after that because guys like Khan and Bradley have to rebuild (Tim been too quiet after the Manny "win") The 140 guys need to finish their match ups too.Comment

I disagree. I think Marquez made pac look better than he was. Marquez looked slow and off balance. It was clear Marquez trained for power and that was enough to put pac to sleep but that was the worst Marquez I've seen in a while.Comment

I truly hope it doesn't happen. Both these two fighters deserve to be stained by their pathetic antics when it comes to (not) fighting each other, not be rewarded cos it's Retirement Fund time.
If the fight was to be made, it would make boxing look like a gigantic ****ing joke. Those people who laugh at our sport would be right.Comment

pacquiao has got to get back on the winning side if they think this fight will gain any interest (at least to the actual boxing community). knowing that marquez is not interested in doing another pacquiao fight, i say arum and koncz go after a bradley rematch (regardless of the outcome in marquez/bradley) after they take care of business in china. i think pacquiao having wins over rios and bradley will be enough to get some excitement back in that match up (mayweather/pacquiao).Comment

No, but he's still tied to Arum.Koncz: Door not closed on Mayweather-Pacquiao

Should Manny Pacquiao have "an exciting and impressive win" over once-beaten contender Brandon Rios, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. defeat RING 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, the Filipino star would still be open to a bout with Mayweather, said Pacquiao's advisor, Michael Koncz.
Mayweather meets Alvarez on Sept. 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, while Pacquiao takes on Rios on Nov. 23 in Macau (Nov. 24 in China).
Pacquiao is trying to rebound from consecutive losses to WBO welterweight titleholder Tim Bradley in June, and Juan Manuel Marquez in December.
"Right now, Manny's focused on Brandon Rios, but Floyd is always a possibility. We've always said that we would fight Floyd," said Koncz.
"I think that Manny will have to have an impressive win in light of comments that Floyd has made about Manny losing his last two fights, and I think that if Manny has an exciting and impressive win come Nov. 24, then Floyd won't have any excuse if he really wants to fight."
Marquez and Bradley elected to fight each other -- instead of Pacquiao -- on Oct. 12 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
"In my personal opinion, with my time spent with Manny, I don't think that Bradley or Marquez are anywhere in his memory banks," said Koncz. "We gave them an option, and we were intending to pay then fairly, and they chose not to fight us, so that's their loss, not ours."
Mayweather, whose past differences with Pacquiao over drug testing contributed to failed negotiations for a megabout, has employed random drug testing by the United State Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for his past four victories: Shane Mosley by unanimous decision, Victor Ortiz by fourth-round knockout, and both Miguel Cotto and Robert Guerrero by unanimous decision.
Pacquiao and Rios have contractually agreed to be randomly drug tested by The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).
"Manny came out and said that he would agree to the testing, and that he would give Floyd a 60-40 split," said Koncz, who also does not believe that Mayweather's multi-fight deal with Showtime -- Pacquiao has mostly fought on HBO -- will be a factor. "Manny's not tied to to any network, so if the fans still want to see this fight, we're willing to do it."

We can speculate all we want on the true amount of cash Manny has in his bank account, but at the end of the day he has and will always have more money in between his couch cushions than you and I will earn combined in our entire lifetimes. That is a fact. If you believe that Manny, once his career ends, will be scrounging for spare change to get by then you are delusional beyond reason. He's loaded. Only Floyd Mayweather Jr. has more money in his pockets from boxing than Manny Pacquiao. If you believe those numbers then you believe that pigs fly. Plus it is fact that Manny is getting advances from Top Rank as we speak.
If a man has 85 million he wouldn't need an advance.
It's also a fact that Bob arum takes 30% of manny's $$$$$
Roach gets 10%
Koncz gets his cut
