Comments Thread For: Ruslan Provodnikov on Possibly Facing Mike Alvarado

BoxingScene.com recently spoke to junior welterweight contender Ruslan Provodnikov about rumors that he will be facing Mike Alvarado this fall. Provodnikov last fought in March when he lost a spirited decision to Tim Bradley. He had the WBO champion staggered many times throughout the fight and some thought he did enough to win the fight.

The Siberian fighter said that he had targeted the winner of the rematch between Mike Alvarado and Brandon Rios long before the fight happened on March 30th. He feels his style will mesh well with Alvarado and feels that they would produce fireworks if the potential fight comes to fruition.

Looking forward to seeing Provodnikov fight again. The Bradley fight was the first I'd seen of him but it instantly made me a fan.

I think after the loss to rios mike knew he had to switch it up he cant be fightin toe to toe the whole fight he has to box every once and a while he can can brawl but then back to pickin his shots thats the key to beatin guys lik rios an provo.
I will say that this fight will be very good an i think provo hits harder then rios so mike better chill with that brawler style in this one he could get k.oed!

I had a feeling this would happen. Provodnikov, Rios, Alvarez, Bradley, Marquez, Pacquaio - Bob's just gunna keep matching these 5 against each other and milk as many matches and rematches as he can possible.

Provodnikov would beat Alavarado. He has better boxing skills than Rios, therefore he'll be able to catch Alvarado much more.

          Provo by late KO

Goldenboy is doing the exact same thing. We have Matthysse, Peterson, Garcia, Judah all fighting each other. Guess what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is actually a good thing. Or at least, the best scenario we can get right now due to the promoter and network politics.
