So you want the Klitschko's to retire- they are the only decent fighters in the Heavyweight division today - we will go back to the early 80's where the heavyweight belt will passed around after every 2nd fight - Povetkin would lose to Arreola then to Stiverne then to Fury then to Price then to Thompson then to Wilder etc etc. - be careful what you wish for.
I entirely agree that todays HW division sucks bad, but this allows two people from the same family to hold the titles, which at least makes things interesting in that it would never have happened in other eras.
but of course I want to them to retire now, who wants HW champions who pick unranked unskilled opposition to string out a false legacy?
I would prefer the best fighter took the crown rather than tag team tactics to manufacture fake dominance.

Wlad has always been the one who wants full power, in terms of ring size, doctors, judges etc... whether he gets his full way or not, he certainly gets home advantage.
The main issue from last time that he tried to fight Potvekin was drug testing. Wlad refused if I am correct and I forgot what happened from there.

Vitali is perhaps guilty of this, but not Wladimir. He'll fight anyone.
Pianeta would agree, after all Wlad picked just about anybody when he picked him. A big guy off the street would do better.
But Corrie would disagree, if he were still alive.
My personal view is that Vitali had the more balls, he didn't hide from Lewis whislt he was still young and prime.
I haven't kept up with the HW since all the contenders started running from their title shots. You're saying that time has passed, there are willing and able challengers out there that Wlad could have fought instead of Pianeta?

Feeble response, really. Pretty much every 'contender' is waiting for Vitali and/or Wladimir to retire. They're padding out their resumes with cans; they're not even fighting each other for mandatory status.
There's no ambition. No self-belief. They just see Wladimir as an unbeatable champ. It's sad.
