You could say Dawson was weight drained when he fought Ward, but it wasn't a catchweight bout

the fight was at 168 even .. Full Super Middleweight limit.

I'm pretty interested in seeing how this fight plays out, as we rarely get to watch two southpaws face off. Dawson is 5 years younger, but has five more years of pro experience. Adonis is a big puncher, but is coming up from 168. Both guys are athletic, with Dawson have a slight reach advantage. Dawson is defensive-minded, Adonis is offensive-minded. The fact that this fight is taking place in Canada should not be overlooked. I'm picking Adonis by close decision.

Alwaysed liked dawson but i lost alot of respect for the effort he gave against ward he gave up an it was plain to see.
That being said he is at his real weight and in my opinion needs a k.o to raise his status as a fighter fans can still depend on.
Im a big fan of Ward but come on Dawson had major issues making weight thats why he looked so bad , I thought it at the time the fight was made but he was adamant he would be fine , he found out different .

To me, if he signed on for 168 (he called out Ward & stated 168 himself), then he can't use being weight-drained as an excuse, much less reason......

Things got heated at the press conference, so maybe Dawson will fight with more intensity than he usually does, but I doubt it. I see Adonis trying to push the pace while Dawson sits back and boxes. It's gonna be his calmness/passiveness that will lose him the fight. Adonis is gonna be in front of his crowd in the biggest fight of his career and he'll take the risks necessary to get the victory. If he fights aggressive, he could potentially win the fight without having to rely on the judges.

I know, but it's still a pretty rare occurrence. The only other recent and notable southpaw match-up I can think of is Williams/Martinez.
