Comments Thread For: Dawson Says Power Has Returned at Light Heavyweight

NEW YORK - Light Heavyweight kingpin Chad Dawson (31-2, 17 KOs) is ready to go on the road once again and defend his WBC title against top contender and dangerous power puncher Adonis Stevenson (20-1, 17 KOs) in Stevenson's backyard of Canada at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The 12-round championship showdown is scheduled to take place Saturday, June 8th on HBO Boxing After Dark as part of a doubleheader featuring Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Darley Perez as the co-main event. The HBO telecast will begin at 10:00 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT).

Dawson is a throwback fighter who is willing to give advantages to his opponents in order to make the best fights possible. This will be his third time going to Canada to meet an opponent on his home turf, the first time was back in August of 2010 against Jean Pascal and then again in May of 2011 against Adrian Diaconu. Now Dawson will fight Stevenson, who's originally from Haiti, and makes no excuses for traveling to hostile territory. [Click Here To Read More]

I hope that Dawsons chin issues are resolved. Stevenson can punch, but he's amateurish at times, and he's 33. The difference is Dawson has the experience, BUT...... Stevenson is the true southpaw. Should be a good fight.

I hope Chad does all of us a favor and takes out the garbage known as the Sex-Slavery, child and woman abusing worthless piece of crap Stevenson.

I'm still not impressed with Adonis yet. Chad at his true weight should easily win this one if he doesn't start slow like against Pascal.

Chad needs this win greatly after gettin schooled by the smaller ward actually i felt ward made dawson look lik a washed up fighter on his way out the sport!!!!
Alwaysed liked dawson but i lost alot of respect for the effort he gave against ward he gave up an it was plain to see.
That being said he is at his real weight and in my opinion needs a k.o to raise his status as a fighter fans can still depend on.

I don't see the major chin issues Dawson has, but Stevenson has a puncher's chance

**pretty noticeably embarrassing spelling error in the article, it's throne as in one a King sits on not thrown like you would an object

If Dawson dominates and wins easily you have to look at the catchweight in the Ward fight and think he was weight drained for that fight. I'd like to see Ward move up and fight Dawson at 175 anyway. Nobody at 168 wants to see Ward.
