Comments Thread For: Khan-Alexander Contracts Being Finalized For 12/7

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised Jeff Powell of Daily Mail that contracts are being finalized for Amir Khan to challenge IBF world welterweight champion Devon Alexander. The fight has been targeted for December 7th and Dubai is seriously being considered as the location for the fight. If Khan is able to defeat Alexander, he would place himself in line for a unification with WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., who moves up in weight on September 14th to challenge WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Amir Khan is not very difficult to hit neither are his shots accurate. I can not see how Devon will lose this fight although I have a feeling he needs to win big because the Score Cards have already been filled in favour of Khan.

Like how the score cards were in favour of Khan in Khan-Peterson. Or how the score cards were NOT in favour of Alexander in Alexander-Kotelnik and Alexander-Matthysse.

      This guy...

Khan wins by wide decision. Smart move by khans team leading him on the path to mayweather meanwhile avoiding any dangerous punchers.

If the fight is in Dubai the judges won't be on Alexander's side. That is obvious.

The winner of this fight will be a future Mayweather opponent.

If Mayweather beats Canelo, I believe he will fight the winner of Matthysee-Garcia early 2014 and the winner of this fight for his second fight of 2014.

All the stars are aligned. If he beats Canelo convincingly, that is.

Is Khan really that big of a draw where Golden Boy wants him to be so successful? Ive only been into boxing a couple years maybe but all i see is them hyping him up along with self-hype but him not doing so well in the ring. Someone fill me in.

Devon wins this one VERY easily. We might even get a K.O.

For some reason khan is just always in position for a Mayweather fight. Lol I don't get it but I like this fight for him. He can beat Alexander.

I was thinking the same but if khan does beat devon, he would need to fight someone in the first half of 2014. I would love to see him fight Broner or maybe even victor Ortiz.
