I still remember the first time I ever heard about him lol. I was like 7 or 8
My dad was talking with his friends, and this one guy was like "You heard about this Roy Jones guy? His punches are like ******* blasts but he throws like machine gun fire"
That was back when he was still on the come up. I pictured his description in my head and thought "damn.. this guy must be a baaad man" And his name stuck with me ever since.Last edited by DARKSEID; 06-03-2013, 09:42 AM.Comment

That's an awesome quote. reminds me of my dad talking about Larry Holmes. He didn't think he'd ever be beaten.I still remember the first time I ever heard about him lol. I was like 7 or 8

He took a supplement called Ripped fuel (Richard Hall also tested positive for it at a higher dose) it was a new supplement widely sold in supplement stores and not illegal. The FDA got on it as it contained Ephedra I believe and put it on the banned substance list, both fighters still had it in their system thus failing.
When it comes to instances like this or Dillian Whytes Jack3d ban, I can't help but feel for the athlete. Its not as if they intentionally tried to cheat.
Roy tested positive for Andro, which was a legal supplement at the time sold all over the place like GNC ect but banned by the commission. He says he took ripped fuel which does not have that on the ingredients lists but even after Andro was banned it was still showing up off label in a lot of supplements. His story is pretty plausible and he did not test positive for a steroid or for anything illegal.Comment

He did beat some decent guys and climbed up to the heavyweight division. Just on accomplishments alone, I would consider him great. I will say again, He is a great boxer but his greatness is overrated due to the fact that he was able to move pretty against mediocre opponents. Let's not forget the shit he is doing currently getting knocked out left and right by mediocre guys.Comment

And he looked great after words... Don't you think more would have been made of it if the story wasn't true. You make it seem like he pulled a Mosley or Peterson. I could see your point if all the sudden he just started getting wrecked right after or didnt show the same athleticism or staminaComment

One night only, roy is the best ever. On his best night
No one from 154 to 175 can best roy ever on his beat night.
Ps floyd mayweather has been said to fail three drug tests.
As well as is friends with steroid using wrestlers.
As well as using xylocaine which is only legal in vegas of all places.
Floyd will never fight at msg ?? Ask why
Floyd also has a stable of cheats.
Floyd also only uses usada who has been known to throw away drug tests
And wont use vada.
He also took strange vacations and retirements and bulked up
Which looked su****ious.
