No he wasn't scared buddy. He just tried to take insurance. If he was TRULLY scared, he wouldn't have won that many rounds early and would hav estarted running from the sound of the bell.

"I would love to fight Tito again and I will even move up in weight to fight him. This time it will be different I will not run like I did in our first fight. I ran because I thought I had it won and, of course, because Tito hits very hard and I didn't want to get hit by him, but next time I will fight smarter." said De La Hoya during a press conference after the Shane Mosely fight.

When have you seen a boxer that stands infront of another to get knocked out. Get real buddy, ofcourse ODLH wouldn't stand infront. He uses movement and footwork to avoid punches just like any other good fighter. Tito is fun to watch against other brawlers his size. He got overhyped because he beat Joppy, but Joppy was clearly not at Hopkins level. Tito can still have a great career but he should forget about Hopkins.

            My assesment on Trinidad:

Thremendous puncher, partially because he is accurate with his punches, and partially his power is a gift from mother nature. I study fitness and nutrition in college and asses that Trinidad is a fast-twitch athlete. His muscle fiber makeup (not mass) enables him are able to generate much more power and explosion than most. Some people are born with this, some aren't. Trinidad was.

One notices that he is a slow starter. Usually in the first/early round(s) his workrate is low because he is feeling out his opponent. What is he going to throw? What is his stance like when he's going to throw a jab, hook, uppercut etc.? Usually, by the second round he knows and usually lands a perfectly timed bomb of a counterpunch on his usually wide-open opponent that rattles him and shifts the momentum of the match.

Trinidad's physique is relatively unimpressive. Yet he is in phenominal condition. The guy's a marathon runner w/ the explosiveness of a powerlifter. Opponents see his skinny upper-body and think that they can stand toe to toe against him, until they get hit by a powerhouse left hook, or a bomb of a right cross. Perhaps this is one of Trinidad's assets: Deception.

Trinidad did carry his power up with him to Middleweight, and probably even improved it, but he did not bring his chin. He still has a welterweight chin, hence his tendency to get knocked down.

Trinidad is a very good boxer. Yes, I said boxer. He is smart, knows his strengths. Studys his opponents. Not at Bernard Hopkins' level in this category, but is very smart. People who come after him will swallow counterpunch after counterpunch.

He will have trouble with movers. Why? Because he simply has problems with movers, fact is a fact. He cannot set on the move, and cannot throw punches at angles, prefers to throw punches one at a time instead of in combination, and has trouble hitting a moving target.

Trinidad is older, wiser, & probably in better physical condition since his 2 year layoff. He had time to heal whatever cumulative wear and tear he had recieved throughout his career and begin with a fresher mindset. He has nothing but good things ahead of him. I give him a puncher's chance against Bernard Hopkins if they ever rematch, but he will not be the favorite, and deservedly so.

I see Tito as a phenomenal athlete.
His frame is unimpressive but packs one of the biggest two-fisted punch pound for pound.
He has a lot of natural stamina, as exhibited by his fight against Mayorga after months of inactivity.
                    His heart is unquestionable.

Tito is one dimentional, and if he was promoted by someone else besides King we wouldnt be talking about him. The only time Tito has been put against a fighter who can challange him he lost. B-Hop and Oscar. B-hop dominated him all night, and Oscar did the same until he backed off. And even when Oscar backed off Tito didnt do anything to win the rounds, Oscar just gave them away. People are also confused in beleiving Tito is back better than ever. It took him over 7 rounds to get rid of a out of shape welterweight fighting at Middle who didnt no how to box but just stick is face to block his punches. Also Tito got hit was to many times against a fighter who throw very wide shots that can be seen from a mile away. The only problem was that Mayorga didnt have the power to do damage at Middleweight although he did stunned Tito just once in the fight (not the knockdown). But since Tito is Don Kings son, he wont fight anyone who could pose a threat against him. So he will proably fight a few guys whos styles are made for Tito and end his career as a hero.
