When Froch reigns as champ for 10 years and has 21 successful title defenses, pretty much unifies the division, moves up to LHW and beats the Ring Champ, then and only then will I say his resume is close to Calzaghes.

People are saying Froch is great based on beating a few top guys in one division while losing to perhaps the best guy. Joe beat all the best guys and even the ones that people thought he would get KTFO against (Lacy). People are quick to discredit Lacy but remember before the Calzaghe fight, he was a beast, a monster, a favorite over Joe and most of the experts picked Lacy by KO.

He took Kessler's 0 and beat up on a Bika who only had 1 loss at the time. Kessler is the guy that people use to substantiate how great Froch and Ward are but conveniently leave him out or forget about him when it comes to Calzaghe.....I swear, the guy gets less credit than any GREAT boxer out there. The sad thing is, he would have badly embarrassed both Ward and Foch in a fight.

Froch is a tough fight for anyone, but with that being said Calzaghe beats him, once Calzaghe made his adjustments Froch would struggle to land on him, Froch utilised his jab against Kessler in the rematch, guess what? So did Calzaghe. Kessler is vulnerable to Froch's attack because he is very upright and often moves back in straight lines, thus Froch is able to land with his long reach as Kesslers head is stationary. Calzaghe dips down, slips, rolls, moves his head, steps to the side, generally much more astute at nullifying his opponent. He is a better fighter on the inside as well, very underrated there, he pushed around and bullied a lot of fighters. I see this as one of those fights which is competitive but wide on the cards, Calzaghe would have an answer in most rounds.

I agree with most of what you say, but Calzaghe embarrassing Ward? I strongly disagree. I favour Ward in that fight, but would not be surprised if Joe pulled it off. It is at the very least a 50/50, but I would personally have it 60-40 for Ward. I think it is a highly competitive fight, but I think Ward is just a tad better in most departments, apart from chin and stamina, and I would have them about even in strength.

          how so?

he got a gift vs dirrell, yes andre fought like a bit...but still he did win that fight, even if he did it in a cowards way

his main wins have come against bute and a past prime kessler whom he lost the first time too

calzaghes main wins have come against an undefeated kessler, undefeated lacy and hopkins

I am not starting anything here but just want to know what people think

remember froch was also 10 seconds away from losing a decision vs taylor and was outclassed by ward and direll

dift against dirrell??I scored it to froch, bigragu scored it to froch, buncey scored it to froch, manny stewart scored it to froch, allan green scored it to froch, the press row scored it to froch and most importantly the judges scored itt o froch.

Even the punch stats showed FRoch outlanded dirrell.

Move on from that, dirrell got beat, hence his bloody face and froch was unscathed.

It would of secured calzaghe legacy (IMO staying undefeated did that) and turned ward into superstar (if he won)

if Froch really wants to build his legacy he should move up to LHW!! Thats what recent greats have done hopkins, roy jones, calzaghe and sure ward will do the same!!!!

                  What counts is the resume.

Basically a hit piece by Warren. Nothing more nothing less. Froch's resume is way above any fighters Warren had represented in his past. In fact, Warren got a lot of hype jobs like Princess Hamed and King Con. and you know...Hatton... not only a name but a verb as well....

The better fighter is the better fighter though. Even if Froch has fought consistently tougher opponents, Calzaghe was a far superior boxer. His win over Hopkins (albeit close) looks better with every year BHOP remains at the top. He absolutely smashed Lacy; but people often rubbish that win "oh Lacy was always ****". Lacy was Calzaghe's Bute moment which Froch gets massive (and deserved) credit for.
