Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Calzaghe Greater, Would've Beaten Froch!

Congratulations to Carl Froch on his fantastic performance in unifying the IBF and WBA World Super-Middleweight belts at London's O2 Arena last weekend. After a war that surpassed even their initial classic in Denmark three years ago, 'The Cobra' was at his venomous best and deservedly had his hand raised after 12 pulsating rounds.

It was a high energy, fiercely competitive affair right from the first to last bell and both men should be commended for their courage, resilience and fortitude. It's sure to be a strong contender when the Fight of the Year honour is dished out.

Having avenged Kessler, there's been an understandable clammer to pitch Froch in another rematch, being against America's slick Andre Ward, the only remaining opponent he has failed to conquer in his 33 fight career. [Click Here To Read More]

that this man has the bare faced cheek to say that calzaghes resume is better than froch's demonstrates again what an odious and deluded little pot of toss he is.

the only question on my lips Frank is ...if they Froch and Calzaghe had fought...would you have have paid EITHER man?

Calzaghe would have beaten Froch IMO but his resume is definitely not better than Froch resume.

I love Froch, and maybe his résumé is better than JC's. But JC would have obliterated Froch by wide UD.

Love Froch but if they had been able to face each other when both were at the top of their game I would have to go with Calzaghe UD too fast & skilful. Froch humbly admits that he wouldn't have been able to beat Calzaghe on points due to his punch output but feels he could have KO'd him but couldn't have seen Froch get a KO. Just a shame this fight wasn't on the cards now could have been the biggest British fight of all time

When Froch was a nobody calling out Calzaghe, Calzaghe didn't want anything to do with him and rightfully so....he hadn't proved himself. Now Groves and DeGale are in a similar position and Froch don't want anything to do with them. Froch says, "they have to prove themselves".

Its a little thing I like to call "The circle of life" lol

Quite a good point actually. Someone should address that to Carl, though I personally think he needs to cash in while he's healthy and not on the decline.

quick question to guys saying froch has a better resume

                  how so?

he got a gift vs dirrell, yes andre fought like a bit...but still he did win that fight, even if he did it in a cowards way

his main wins have come against bute and a past prime kessler whom he lost the first time too

calzaghes main wins have come against an undefeated kessler, undefeated lacy and hopkins

I am not starting anything here but just want to know what people think

remember froch was also 10 seconds away from losing a decision vs taylor and was outclassed by ward and direll
