gatti was shot. he was coming off a ko win over a bum. the only reason people thought shot gatti would beat baldomir is because baldomir is a journeyman! not because gatti was any good. are you trying to revise history and pretend gatti was a top welterweight or something?

years later we know he was shot, but back then many people thought he was a live dog and stood a change against Baldomir, thats my point.

From what I remember at the time, the asking was 10 mil to fight Marg, and 10 mil for Cotto and whatever could be agreed for DLH. Though I don't tend to concern myself with the money side of boxing, I thought Mayweather earned closer to 20 mil against DLH with DLH making double that.

Arum didn't think the money was there for those fights (ie didn't want to pay that) and the rest is history.

Im on this site since 2005, believe me, there were many threads about people complaining that Floyd wasnt fighting Baldo

there were ten times that amount saying he should fight cotto or margarito. there were threads saying he should fight bum ortiz and guerrero. everyone goes nuts after a fighter wins one fight. that doesn't change the fact he avoided long time top contenders and instead fought a flash in the pan journeyman.

I wasn't on this forum that long but I do remember Mayweather getting Grilled not only by Brian Kenny but I think Lampley grilled him bout not fighting Baldomir as well "WHY NOT FIGHT THE GUY THAT BEAT ZAB" during the build up of the Zab vs Mayweather fight

i'm talking guarantee's. floyd only got a 10 million guarantee to fight hoya. he demanded a 20 mill guarantee from arum. obviously this would make no sense for arum to accept. the money wasn't there. floyd knew this. hence he priced himself out to avoid margarito and cotto, then after he left he took half his asking price. pretty simple really. somehow floyd fans twist this into arum not wanting floyd to fight cotto even though he offered him a huge career high payday for the fight. it makes no sense. it's like saying arum wouldn't guarantee floyd 500 million to fight pac. arum doesn't want the fight!

Mosley was a great fight, don't make me show you the hundred threas about how Floyd would never fight Mosley after Mosley decapitated that bum cheater margarito
Hatton was a great fight, the pre fight was insane, everybody wanted to see the fight.
The DLH and Cotto were great and were fights that people wanted to see.

Floyd has his share of crap fight and good fights, but fanboys and haters (like you) only see all in white or in black.

But he left TopRank anyway because he wasn't getting paid and he wanted to become his own boss. Arum never wanted to do business with Floyd and Oscar because he felt betrayed by both because they left him. Now all of a sudden people are claiming he ducked Cotto and Margarito... When has TopRank ever put one of their stars against anything dealing with GB? Its for the same reason Lucas vs Rios didn't get made and Donaire and Mares isn't getting made.

hmm a little fight called pac vs hoya? or pavlik vs hopkins? you got no leg to stand on. it's floyd who doesn't want to work with top rank not the other way around. blame floyd.
