Thoughts on Diego Gabriel Chaves vs Keith Thurman

Chaves is a hard fighter to judge, I've hardly seen him fight except for a few YouTube clips but looks like a big puncher.

Is he another maidana,Abregu,Lucas class fighter with heart and good punch resistance or is like that Argie Saldivia that Kell Brook fought?, power puncher but chinny.

Thurman has some Serious Power, and is a huge WW and I've liked what i have seen of him thus far.

If Chavez is nearly as good as Maidana/Lucas then he vs Thurman could be fireworks with KD's aplenty like Maidana vs Ortiz, if he isn't then he gets brutally Knocked out in 1 or 2 rounds.

He is like Hector Saldivia in fact I believe he was knocked down heavily by some bum Saldivia destroyed.
I'm not sold on Thurman but I feel he'll destroy Chaves who for me is overrated as hell on this board, I see nothing special in him.

The reason I think hes rated is because on paper his record looks good and he looks a serious puncher. People are hoping to be the first on the bandwagon and hoping hes the next Lucas Matthysse without really seeing him.

Well doesn't bode well for Chaves then. I was hoping for a war here. Hopefully maidana vs Lopez delivers next week.

Who knows, Keith Thurman was knocked down by 'Quandray Robertson (15-9)' not that long ago, so maybe he's not bulletproof either. Regardless, Chaves hasn't been with anything remotely close to this level of opposition so I would expect an early stoppage from Keith. I just hope this turns into a hard-punching slug-fest for as long as it lasts.

Who gives a crap? He's either a step up fight for Thurman, or a showcase fight. Depends on how Thurman does. I'm confident he'll spark him out, then everyone will call him a bum.

This is a good fight right now in Thurman's career imo..Chaves is a solid boxer nothing major tbh..Looks like he has some pop but he also looks very small for the weight..I'd like to see Thurman fight the winner of Maidana Lopez if he should get by Chaves(which I believe he will)..I don't look at Chaves as a step up fight..More like a fight he(Thurman)should win and say hey look beat a tough contender..I really want him to step it up should he win this fight tho..
