so this means canelo will still be undefeated after this fight win or lose

If Floyd can't fight 154 lbers, then don't fight 154lbers and give up your title, it really is that simple. And that's without mentioning how dangerous it could be for Saul, he's going to get hit a lot, if he's drained, serious damage could be done.

This fight had to be made, these concerns weren't gonna go away whether it took place early next year or even late, the demand was too strong. I think Floyd did everything possible to make it happen, make sure he wasn't at too much of a size disadvantage, and this is the best they could pull.

has nothing to do with the level, it's just a matter of the inidviual being able to make the weight without sacrificing too much

That's kind of what I mean, at the elite level these guys are fighting at, there isn't a single spare pound to be sacrificed, there's probably not an ounce of fat on them come fight night, where is the other 2 pounds going to come from? He either has to sacrifice muscle mass or water weight, either of which could spell bad news in the ring.

For one, Cotto did not look like no 168, regardless of Mayweather's words. Oscar to me looked considerably bigger than Cotto when Floyd fought him. I don't like catch weights either, but puttin' on 19 pounds after the weigh in is bullshit as well. Maybe we should be talking about bringing back same day weigh ins to avoid this kind of crap completely.

Canelo realizes that compromises have to be made if you want a shot at the top spot. He's dealing with this issue like a man and hungry fighter trying to earn his superstar status, can't say the same for his whiny fans.

i dont think 2lbs makes much difference but it just goes to show that mayweather is a hypocrite. how come he can fight cotto at 154 but not canelo? how come cotto was viewed as undefeated by floyd because he was contrcted to a catchweight? well you can say the same for canelo! win win situation.

No, I don't care for ******ity, difference man. If a fighter wants to kill himself, simply because he wants to use size as an equalizer for his lack of skill; even going through the risk of ******** with his health, that's all on him. Fight at your comfortable weight, it's simple.
