Because he clearly lose when he fought like that against cotto. Watch the fight, Floyd still moved in that fight he just mixed it up more. He only mixed it up enough to get hit with hard jabs and glancing blows. He didn't go all GATTI and slug it out.

Over trained - Mayweather hasn't fought twice in 1 year in about 6 years, he was 150lbs 30 days before the fight. People are overlooking that Mayweather could have over trained for this fight, he was gasping for air in that public workout when he was doing the speed bag telling people to step back so he could get some air. I'm not saying that's a clear sign but he looked a little rusty when just a few weeks back he looked better on another ustream workout he had.
Maybe he was just having a bad day but he didn't look like vintage Mayweather.
Hand problems - He admittedly hurt his hands against Guerrero and less then 1-2 months he's back in the gym? How's he going to keep Canelo off if he were to injure his hand again? To get Canelo's respect he's going to have to put some hurting on him and with a busted hand that could be a huge problem.
Canelo is really good/Smart - He's a fighter who has shown to adapt his style and come in with a great game plan, Mayweather might have a false sense of confidence from fighting the "Toe to Toe" Zombie in Guerrero and might have bit off more then he can chew.
Canelo is getting no respect around here but I can't remember the last Mayweather fight where I thought there was a good chance of him losing.
The thing about Canelo is, he is very skilled, freakishly poised for a young fighter, and isn't one-dimensional.
A lot of the guys Floyd has fought just aren't that skilled - and those that are, like Oscar/Cotto/JMM/Mosley were not up at their physical peak (yes, I know it's a catchweight but let's presume Saul makes weight well).
People really think Floyd is gonna easily UD guy a full legit weight class above him (and Mayweather is maxed out in terms of how high he can go, whereas Saul will keep going), with excellent ring IQ and skills, improvement from fight to fight, and has good punching power? Hell, he even showed good defence against Trout.
I think Floyd is in for a rough fight.

If Canelo had dominated Trout I wouldn't have a problem with someone picking him but we know that wasn't the case.
The people banking on Canelo are just banking on his size. Sorry that ain't gonna cut it.

Mayweather weighing 150lbs is a sign of him over training? Or maybe its cause the dude isn't that big? Stop reaching.

Canelo should not be underestimated. That would be very negligent on any fighter's part.

In other words, Canelo only has a punchers chance.

The question is: Can Canelo cut off the ring effectively, and can he neutralize a boxer/counter puncher like Floyd?
If you believe he cannot, then what's the use in watching it?
