So let me see if I've got this right.

Some miserable **** devoid of human decency, sits at his computer buying tickets to an event that he has no intention or interest in going to, then sells them to fans of the sport who are desperate enough to go that they'll pay triple the odds.

Then he sits back content, with a miserly smile across his face, and sneers "**** you, pay me!"

Is that the gist of the situation here?

I guess if you're gonna soak up the atmosphere and you don't have tickets then there probably the second best option.

I was gonna travel over from the U.K though so it's not really worth the expense for me.

No. That happens sometimes when a guy like DC3383 got lucky but most of the tix never go on sale. They say the fight is sold out but its really not. Its not even close to being sold out.

All the tix go to Casinos and mostly brokers who buy it for a fixed price and then resale them for marked up prices. The promoters do this because they then put the risk all on someone else. The promoters sold them to the brokers so its considered a sellout but now the brokers do what they want which is always to mark it up.

Basically 90% of the tix were never even going to be available on tix master and were already sold before they went on sale. Now you have to pay the marked up price on stubhub and other sites.

It use to be a big deal here a few years ago and they said they were going to get Congress involved. They talked about how the average man cant take his kids to games anymore and its not fair. However, I havent heard anything about it in a long time. Basically the average fan is screwed

Before the prices were announced I'd set myself a limit of $500. Being restricted to the cheaper seats I didn't hold out much hope of getting any. . . but they were gone fast!
