Khan and Enzo Mac had to practically be killed before the referee stopped the fights when it was against a foreign fighter. It's not a McClellan thing, it's a British thing, a feeling you of all people should be familiar with.
Say what you want about the scorecards nonsense that goes on in America, at least the referees aren't this bad. And it's because they get called out on their shiet, in Britain we brush it under the carpet if our fighter gets the benefit of it.
Can you imagine Bunce saying the same shiet if it was Chisora who had got counted out like that?Comment

Tell that to Mikkel Kessler, Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton (or even Victor Ortiz).
Ref should've let him continue, but Scott contributed to his own demise by not getting up sooner.Comment

Malik made a cardinal sin in boxing. you don't give the ref a chance to count you out. he didn't look like he wanted to get up.Comment

I'm just sick and tired of watching fights in Britain constantly ruined by refs in on the take.
I understand that this sort of thing happens everything - refs, judges, even ringside doctors - seem to favour the home fighter.
But it happens so egregiously again and again in Britain. And I'm a Brit.
And it keeps happening cos the beneficiary of all this nonsense is the British fighter, and so no-one calls the referee out on it.Comment

Well I thought the ref was too eager to stop it for sure and Malik should have been allowed to continue.
But Malik shot himself in the foot by getting up at around 9.5 secs. If he wanted to take his time he should have just got up at 8. I don't know too much about Malik but to me he seems like one of those quitter types that can't take the heat when it gets tough. I mean the way he didn't really complain much, and wanted to hug and kiss Del Boy in the post-fight interview it seemed to me like he really didn't want to go on.Comment

Amir Khan? Who had to be knocked into next week before the Prescott fight was stopped?
Ricky Hatton? Who mauled Kostya almost to death without anything being done? Who got a minute to tie his ****ing shoelaces against Laszcano when he was hurt?
Cortez, Laurence Cole etc are bad but British referees take that shiet to a whole nother level, and we all know it.Comment

Malik looked OK to go on, but he gave the referee a chance to count him out. He has himself to blame. I'm not sure Malik wanted to really continue the fight, maybe Chisora pressure got to him. Its a strange scenario, Malik took a knee for to long. Getting up at 9 is ridiculous.Well I thought the ref was too eager to stop it for sure and Malik should have been allowed to continue.
