Floyd is my guy but he deserves heat for the catch weight. It is obvious he has an issue with the weight class. Win or lose I believe this will be his last fight north of 147.

But the fight was made and many thought it wouldn't be. We all benefit here

Love the article, but we need one MAJOR clarification...... there has been NO comparison, and will be no comparison of Floyd Mayweather to Ray Leonard ever. Floyd has a manufactured undefeated record, and nobody cares how much money he's made. Nobody cares how old Floyd is today, and when Ray Leonard "got undressed" by Terry Norris as you call it.

The competiton Ray Leonard fought in his career, let money take care of itself mentality, dwarfs the likes of who Floyd fought and when he fought them. Floyd made Mosley & Cotto wait more than 10 years to fight, to insure both were well past their prime. He nearly guessed wrong on both. Floyd STILL won't fight Pacquiao after two consecutive losses, and after Manny agreed to less money and all Floyd's demands. Manny is too dangerous. The fight would sell out in an hour. The only real challenge Floyd took was Dela Hoya, and most that saw that fight felt Oscar won the fight. So much, that Floyd walked away from a $25M rematch with Oscar. Manny has now waited for more than 4 years for Floyd.

Leonard, fought the best of the best, in their prime, multiple times, win, lose, or draw, his entire career. Leonard came back from a 5 year retirement, NO TUNE UP FIGHT, and climbed in the ring with Marvin Hagler and won a decision; nobody does that!!! Duran (2x), Hearns (2x), Hagler, Benitez... Leonard even went up to Light Heavyweight looking for a challenge. Leonard had the biggest ballz this sport has ever seen, just as did Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Arguello, Pryor, Chavez Sr...... these guys are LEGENDS. Floyd Mayweather is not in the same league as Ray Leonard or the rest of these legends who fought the best of the best, IN THEIR PRIMES, win, lose, or draw.

Get your facts correct Leonard made hagler wait for years b4 he fought him he was not in his prime when they fought and leonard made all the conditions to the fight ring size glove size and instead of 15 rds it was 12. but i do agree with most of the rest of what you said.

WTF......152? What a joke. The belt shouldn't be on the line, it should be at 154 for the 154 pound title. It's better than Alexander I guess but a catchweight is a catchweight.

what other opponent has floyd put at a disadvantage? also, check my question about whether this 152 lb weight limit gives floyd the ability to use 8oz gloves, since fights @ 154 lbs+ require 10oz gloves. remember, he begged the commission to allow him to use 8oz gloves against cotto, but they strictly prohibit it. this could be the reason why the catchweight, if that's the case.

You just completely forgot to mention that Floyd talked so much crap about PacMan when he made Cotto come down from 147 to 145. Yet, now that Floyd does it, it's ok? Come on, get outta here with that BS. Floyd himself said, "weight doesn't win fights, skills do." Why make it a catchweight fight then? Dude, he fought Cotto and ODLH at 154 lbs. Why not Canelo? He could've easily put in a re-hydration clause and nobody would have said *****.

Floyd has a reputation for cherry picking and dodging top competition or putting them at a disadvantage and this just further perpetuates that - any way you cut it.

I hope Canelo blows off the CW, pays whatever it costs, and trains for the fight just like he would any other 154 fight. If he is already dehydrating to make 154, losing that extra two pounds is hard. Where is it going to come from? Boxers are already at minimum body fat. Anybody saying otherwise hasn't done it themselves or seen a gym mate do it. Your body hates you for it.

I can tell you're obviously not a fan of floyds, nor a true fan of boxing. you can try to name some classic fighters and classic boxing matches to make yourself sound as if you are, but the truth is if you were, you'd know that floyd called out mosley right after he fought demarcus chop chop corley if I'm not mistaken. Mosley had a tooth problem and wanted to go on vacation after his fight with vargas instead of making the fight. Floyd called out cotto right after he fought arturo gatti, Cotto was even in attendance. Bob arum as well as cottos father stated that cotto wasn't ready yet. He called out Hatton before the hatton fight actually happened, and hatton's people stated he wasn't ready at the time. Go back and do your research and you'll find that all these names you're mentioning floyd called out years ago, if they didn't want to fight at the time, what could he do?

And for all those crying about a catchweight, get over yourselves. Stop looking for the dumb excuses. 95% of yall didn't even think he'd make the fight, and now that he has, yall cry about it. bottom line is, if you have a problem with it, stop paying so much attention to floyd and everything he does. Yall stay on his n*ts more then his biggest fans.
