The second half of the bout belonged to Froch, generally speaking Taylor was relying on the lead he built in the first half.Comment

All 3 guys are very close in my opinion.
Title Defenses: Calzaghe
Resume: Lennox
Record: Calzaghe
Excitement: Froch
Draw: Lennox
But Froch will NEVER be ahead of Calzaghe unless he can beat Ward or Knockout Hopkins in a devastating manner.Comment

The best win there imo is Cleverly who is a LHW but depends on what he achieves by the time Froch's fought him coz he isn't rated by most right now.Comment

That's true actually you're right I forgot. I think but not 100% certain he was ranked 2 only behind Pacquiao (as Mayweather was on one of his retirements).Comment

Hatton equals him for spirit and Hamed was indeed more exciting to watch while it lasted but once Barrera burst his bubble he just gave up, which is pretty limp (unless theres some health reason that remains undisclosed).
I find it hard to apothesise Hamed in the same way that Froch and Hatton can easily be idolised. Hamed remains an oddity, the one that got away, the guy who walked away from it all as if he'd fell ill to a mysterious sickness that crippled him forever.Last edited by DreamFighter; 05-30-2013, 09:15 AM.Comment

Froch will always live in Calzaghe's shadow on accomplishments and record and this eats at him everyday - Carl had the chance to push him onto Joe's level but failed disimally against Ward and that is a fact there's nothing he can do about that - he lost to Kessler after Joe beat him I know he got the win last week but no-one can tell me that was a prime Kessler - Joe gave an unbeaten Kessler his first loss and KesSller beat Froch first time around that Froch can't reverse.Comment

Froch is probably my favorite fighter to ever come out of the UK. I heart the Cobra. To be honest, I believe his win over Bute is on par with Calzaghe's Kessler win. Afterwards he has an undeserved Hopkins W under his belt and Lacy. So Calzaghe has maybe just one great win, an undeserved W and Lacy.
In terms of resume, Froch is well ahead. He's also more exciting, has more heart and at 35 is still challenging himself. Hell, Froch fighting Andre Ward in his prime is better than the best run Calzaghe could muster. Froch is a true worldwide champ.
Against Hatton and Lewis, things get much tougher to break down. All three were/are great and deserve tremendous respect.Comment

Sorry but I don't buy the only Ward and Hopkins talk.Comment
