"fighter" is a synonym of the word Warrior.

So to be a fighter by definition is to be a warrior.

Yes, when it comes to certain fighters (depending on the context) it has been misused and/or overused. Miguel Cotto, for example, has been referred to as a "warrior" fairly frequently over the years on internet boxing forums. Miguel has always been willing to fight anybody - for that he's a warrior. However, the way in which he retreated time and time again in the latter rounds against the opposition who might have been stronger/unrelenting tells the true story. Think Bradley vs. Provodnikov. Tim Bradley is a warrior. That's an example of a warrior. Think Holyfield vs. Bowe. Holyfield is a warrior. Ect, ect, ect.

Well put my friend, A Warrior to me is how the fighter acts when the going gets tough, Running and holding to run out the time so that you can survive is not Warrior like.

For instant Bradley against Ruslans embodies what a Boxing Warrior is, He fought try to box and bam didnt go his way, but he made a conscious decision to take the Warrior route and go out on his shield if he has to and prove he bows to no man! He could have easily, run and hug all night and win but that a cowards way to win. To run and hug all night is basically admitting that the man in front of you is better then you and your afraid of him and just hope not to get hurt.

Anyone that makes a living and pays their bills by fighting is a warrior/modern day gladiator. Some fighters are just more "blood and guts" than others but it still takes an immense amount of courage to step inside the ring, an amount that the average person has no clue about.

Anyone who steps in the right to box is a warrior.

I don't think that the word 'warrior" is thrown around too much, because it is most often bestowed on those deserving of the name. A fighter like Mayweather would not be called a warrior, except in the very loosest sense that every boxer is, just like there are "soldiers" and genuine warriors who are also soldiers.

On the other hand, there's no doubt but that the word "legendary" is misused almost more than any other.

Ric is a warrior for making this thread. If Garcia gets in the ring with Matthysse then he's a warrior.
