no matter how small the americans think our island is, we are and have always been top drawer in the boxing game period.
top geezers over the last 60 yrs or more and a host of names instantly recognisable worldwide of recent years.
list too long to mention but know this, carl froch will fight you can be sure of that.
however, casting my mind back to the previous fight with andre ward im a little.........hmmmm i thought it was easy for ward and i am a massive carl froch fan.
that success with the upper cut right hook all night and the timing of carls surprisingly slow speed makes me think i dont know but, his chin which is proven steel and the greater experience and possibly bring in adam booth for a gameplan and maybe, just maybe carl will shut andre wards soppy manager up with all his "andre would ko the fack outta kessler and froch in the same night"
rubbish.
world wide carl froch is reknowned for having probably the hardest chin in the game s............bollocks.

Ward doesnt want to go to 175, so again I say why not?
you didnt directly address the question I asked. why would fans who have been exsposed to ward and aren't drawn to him change just because he is fighting in england?
I'm sure the fight would be huge in england. why not-because he beat froch easily the 1st time and I'd rather see fresh face like a steiglitz or a stevenson (niether as good as froch rght now) rather than a rematch.

All these people saying that cos Ward already beat Froch that Ward don't need him I got 2 questions.
1. Who is Ward supposed to fight instead? Do you guys just want him to retire cos there ain't anybody worth fighting about? Froch (Other than B-Hop who won't fight him) is his best opponent period. He already beat all the best 168'ers and the best guy at 175. GGG is a worthy opponent but probably a year away from that fight.
2. Since the Ward defeat, isn't it obvious Froch has improved? You may not agree its by enough to beat Ward, but his performances in beating two top-three opponents (at time of him fighting them) and picking up two alphabet titles warrant the rematch.
I'm sure Froch can live with it if he has a third bout with Kessler, Groves or DeGale fight, Cleverly and/or B-Hop fight for a second weight world title. While beating everybody except a narrow (on the cards at least) decision away to a probable future hall of famer who was afraid to come to the UK for a rematch.
While Ward sits back in Oakland telling the world how awesome he is, calling out Calzaghe and fighting prospects infront of his local parish.

Ward needs froch for payday, at this moment
Froh needs ward for legacy, if he cares
Ward is 29 ad froch just became big at 35 so ward doesnt need froch. His big fight will come in form of chocolate, GGG, chavez jr, or move up. Hea got time froch doesnt.

It sounds to me like Froch is trying to get a gimme in the UK. Froch is a good fighter but a lot has to do with his chin cuz he leaves himself wide open all the time. Froch lost too, and he can't say it was cuz he fought in the US he lost because Ward beat him. Now he's hoping he can throw enough punches to get a gimme in the UK and supposedly avenge his loss b4 he retires. Idk and really don't care where the fight takes place but I do know that it will all be for Frochs benefit. He will get the chance to avenge his loss in the UK and leave hos legacy in tact while ward will just beat a fighter he already beat and decisively.

Buffonery
Before I take the time to address the buffoonery expressed in this article, I would first like to say that I would definitely like to see a rematch, regardless of who dictates the negotiations.
It is clear to me that this article has a lot more to do with Lyle Fitzsimmons's man crush on Carl Froch than it has to boxing. Having a hot wife and a large, intoxicated, and overly excitable English fan base does not justify undue negotiating powers. Let's not corrupt the beautiful meritocracy of athletic competition by getting out priorities confused. Simply put, Andre Ward earned the top spot in the division and at the negotiating table by defeating the best fighters in the division, including Carl Froch.
The answer to the "who needs who?" question is pretty clear. Correct me if I am wrong, but does Andre Ward need a rematch to avenge a loss? NOPE, Carl Froch does. Does Andre Ward need to win in a rematch in order to prove that he is the best in the division? NOPE, Carl Froch does. Does Andre Ward want Carl Froch's status in the division? NOPE, that would be the other way around. A rematch is the one and only avenue Carl has to improve his status in the division while Ward can't improve on the status of #1 super middleweight in the world. The negotiations for a rematch should reflect these realities.

Ward, just move on. Let Froch stay home and make money. He will be the one who has to sleep at night knowing that there is a man out there that is better than him.
