  • Will Hearn/Froch Even Make Ward A Legit Offer?

As usual the NSB idiots have lined up to call Andre Ward a ducker before anything of any substance even happens. Froch himself, in his comments to SKY after the fight, seemed to want to put the brakes on Andre Ward talk and Andre Ward in his comments to SKY said very plainly - "they say they want it, now they need to prove it".

Kessler did the same thing the past year and a half. He and his promoter talked non stop about Ward. They talked about his lack of sales, his lack of earnings, how much more he could make in Denmark, etc etc. However, when it came right down to it they never made an offer. Never picked up the phone. Never backed up their words.

Hearn/Froch need to make an offer, in writing, to Andre Ward for a purse that meets or exceeds what Kessler made this past Saturday (rumor between 2-2.5 mill) for people to say Ward has ducked him.

Will that ever actually happen? I think the chances are very slim and here is why...

The fact that Froch is considering Bernard Hopkins tells you that he is not being completely honest when he talks about why he should or shouldn't fight Ward.

When on the topic of Ward he repeatedly criticizes his style and says that he doesn't make for good fights for the fans. However, you have to be either blind or nuts to say that Hopkins not only makes for **** fights, but is ever worse to watch than Ward at this point. BHop throws about 25 punches a round at his most active.

So if Froch says he won't fight Ward cause it's no good for fans, then says he will fight an ancient Hopkins, who is no good for fans --- then there must be some other reason he really doesn't want it with Ward.

I am a big Froch fan - for the record. I just don't think he actually wants this fight with Ward at the moment. So people already trying to rip Ward for it not happening should just shut up and see if Hearn/Froch even make Ward a ****ty as lowball offer or if they decide to just go silent altogether.

Froch hasn't stopped talking about Ward since the Kessler fight ended, so if he doesn't want to fight him he has a funny way of showing it.

I agree though, if they want it they need to make Ward an offer.

Obviously they need to make an offer - you ignored my propsed $$ number though - would you agree he needs to offer at least 2 million to get this done? I feel like if they offer less it's a cop out.

I thought Froch really hedged his bets with his remarks to SKY after the fight, he didn't seem at all set on Ward.

I simply think the statements about Ward's style not attracting fans and then considering Hopkins as an opponent are very contradictory.

Also contradictory to me is the fact that Hearn and Froch both say Ward can't draw tickets but then went on to state that a Ward fight would warrant use of Wembley Stadium.

Either Ward is a draw or not. You can't say he is a nobody and then say a fight with him would demand a venue 3-4 times the size of the venue used for the Kessler fight.

Froch sounded pretty damn shook and like a guy that knew he had no chance of beating Ward, when speaking to HBO after the Kessler II fight. Ward with two good hands probably stops Froch. All this Ward is boring talk is a joke, considering in his last fight he absolutely destroyed and stopped 175 kingpin Chad Dawson (the same Dawson that gave Hopkins his worst loss since 1993)

First, it isn't Frochs role to offer anyone anything. If it was this fight would get made today. As for Hearn, it's in his best interest to talk big shytt and not offer the kind of coin it's gonna take to get Ward to Wembley. Froch can make Hearn more money fighting others and winning than he can from losing another fight to Ward.

How much is a legit offer? The same purse as Ward got or Dawson?

You are wrong about the Kessler - Ward negotiations (as usual) but I'll let that one fly as we all know you are a hater.

The rumour was Kessler was to make £2m which is actually $3m. The other rumour is that Ward is asking for $5-7m.

If they're genuinely set on Ward I'd be fairly sure he'd be offered at least $2m but Ward may want more.

I thought Froch really hedged his bets with his remarks to SKY after the fight, he didn't seem at all set on Ward.
I thought he seemed very keen on the Sky interview, less so on the HBO interview. Regardless, besides fighting Kessler again, Andre Ward is pretty much all Froch has talked about since the fight finished.

Hearn doesn't seem as keen as Froch on Ward or B-Hop, he seems to prefer Kessler III or Groves.

Also contradictory to me is the fact that Hearn and Froch both say Ward can't draw tickets but then went on to state that a Ward fight would warrant use of Wembley Stadium.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think it was Ward who initially brought up Wembley. 90,000 is a lot of people, that's up on Super Bowl numbers.

Could they do it? possibly but it would be a shame to get all those people there and then have a boring fight.

Kessler got 50-50 and he's a bigger draw than Ward, it would be ridiculous for Ward to ask for more.

So Ward is a ducker if he doesn't accept 2M?
