Personally I don't think Froch wants the Ward fight. I will be very surprised if they actually make a formal contract offer to Ward that will pay him equal or better than they offered Kessler.

If that does not happen, then nobody can say Ward ducked the fight.

My expectation is that Hearn will make a very lowball offer to Ward and use the "you don't sell tickets line" to justify making an offer knowing full well it would be rejected.

What I really don't understand is the Hopkins consideration. Froch talks **** about Ward's style being boring but Hopkins style is 10x worse and includes very little actual punching.

Froch can't have it both ways. If he is considering Hopkins he should shut the hell up about Ward's style not making good fights because the fact that Hopkins is in the conversation shows that he is not keen on fighting Ward for reasons that have nothing to do with Andre's style.

By some sort of an "accident" I happened to follow the issue above... All began when Hearn started to set up the Kessler rematch... Then, all of a sudden, small town boy Ward suggested he would travel to UK in case Hearn comes up with a consistent offer (which the media speculated to be somewhere between $5 and 7 mln). Grandpa Hopkins also smelled the opportunity and smartly thought that London would better want to see the very inventor of the most boring boxing style ever, rather than his younger copy (i.e. Ward). Now I suspect that Hearn will try to negotiate the lower price between B-Hop and Ward -- leaning maybe towards grandpa Hopkins, who's a "legend" but a smaller threat though...

Hearn knows Hopkins is the better name by far and presents less risk to Froch. Plus BHop is more than willing to jump the pond to fight in the UK. BHop/Froch sells more tickets in London than Ward/Froch.

Ward will be pi$$ed if B-Hop steals Froch II from under his nose. He already had a go at him on Sky about muscling in.

If Dirrell came back to the UK Froch would probably have the fight in a smaller ring and just pummel the guy.

Firstly, Dirrell has to "come back" into the sport itself -- which I doubt.
But if, against all odds, Dirrell comes back, he needs tune ups etc, before he would claim a title shot against Froch. (Does Carl fight in rings bigger than 16 ft. while at home?)
