I believe Orucuta was throwing close to a 100 punches per round but I don't recall Narvaez actually getting chin checked. Orucuta also run into a lot of left hands (he got a nasty cut on his forehead early in the fight as a result). I thought Orucuta widely outworked Narvaez, but Narvaez threw the much cleaner shots (both overhand lefts and right hooks). It was close fight though.

I was watching a stream, but I accidentally fell asleep before the Narvaez fight came on. From the comments I'm reading on twitter, most people think Orucuta won, but I got a feeling some Mexican fervor might be skewing the general perception. Waiting for a the vid to pop up to see for myself.
Sampson Lewkowicz took some shots at Narvaez on his account.Comment

lol atleast Martinez actually won his fight doeEven the same TV commentators in Argentina had Oricuta ahead. The irony is that Narvaez recently criticized Sergio Martinez by saying that Maravilla received a gift decision against Murray and now both boxers are even exactly in the same situation. Narvaez knew that if he could finish the fight on his feet the judges would give him the victory. That is why he celebrated like a little child who is going to eat cake because he was very sure of what was coming which was the horrible home decision.Comment

Haha the irony... Narvaez is a fkin clown.
So much for all my victories are real huh Narvaez? Karma is a b1tch. Maybe you shouldve been more worried about your opponent than Martinez.

Robbery = most overused word on boxingscene.
Robbery has been redefined to mean a close fight with a decision you don't agree with or a close fight in which the fighter you support doesn't get the decision.
Campillo vs Shumenov was a robbery, a one-sided fight in which the guy who clearly lost was given the decision. Nobody, including probably Shumenov, thought he beat Campillo.
IMO, Martinez vs Murray was a close fight. I scored it narrowly for Martinez, but it could have been a draw or one-point Murray win.Comment

Narvaez is a little "long in the tooth" as they say. He's pretty much irrelevant now, he'd get smoked if he fights JC Sanchez, Estrada, Viloria, Gonzalez, or any of the top guys at or around the weight really.Comment

meh, I watched 6 random rounds of the fight and I thought Narvaez landed most of the clean punches while Orucuta missed a lot. Some of the rounds TYC gave to Orucuta, I gave to Narvaez. Probably wasn't a robbery.Comment
