I think Ward wins hands down and I think Ward would be normally correct in saying that he doesn't have to go to the UK, just like Floyd does not have to fight outside of Las Vegas. Both Ward and Floyd are the top dogs in their respective divisions and have what everybody wants and a win against them will catupult their opponents to the next level. However, the difference between Ward and Floyd is that Floyd will give his opponent a big stage to fight on and perhaps their biggest payday, while Ward would not. So in order for Ward to become popular, he would have to go to the UK, Canada, Denmark, ect., to gain that popularity and earn the right to just fight at home. It would make him none worldwide and he would make more money. I know its shocking to him, but winning the Super 6 came with a trophy and not popularity.

Froch knows that he can make good fights with a trilogy with Kessler, fight the other 168 pound champ, fight Bute again or fight Hopkins. Ward may have to give more than a little and make this fight happen, then maybe fight Bute and Kessler in their hometowns in order to get that notoriety that he thinks he has. I doubt his lack of popularity has anything to do with his fighting style because Floyd's style is not fan friendly either, as a matter of fact, Ward's is more fan friendly than Floyd's. The difference is that Ward lacks personality just like Bradley. Look at how Broner came onto the scene and has become popular in a short period of time. His personality has made him a star that either people want to see him back his talk up or they want to see him get knocked out. Either way, he will gladly take the money.

Ward is one of my favorite fighters, so I hope he makes that flight to the UK.

I did, he fouled continously through that fight, luckily for Ward he was at home and had an understanding ref. I'm not saying he wouldn't have beaten Kessler anyway, but Ward got away with a lot in that fight.

Ward can dream that he's a big draw and doesn't need the Froch rematch but fact is Froch is by far his biggest payday (other than that hillarious match-up with Chavez jr.) and if he wants to be taken seriously by the world he has to leave his home country to fight a world class opponent at some point like every other top 168 pounder has done. For legacy and financial reasons Ward needs Froch again, no deluded ideas of grandeur is going to change that.

Froch went over to fight Ward in the US last time and lost fair and square. Now Froch holds 2 World titles and Ward holds none. So if Ward wants the belts he has to travel to the double World Champion to fight him. Not only that but the fight would not sell as well in the US. As we know, Ward struggles to sell PPV and fill seats in the US. In the UK, Froch sells PPV very well and fills stadiums. In that sense, Froch is the bigger draw. UK fans would not pay to see Ward, only Froch.

Ward can say what he likes but Froch holds the belts and therefore has the bargaining power. Ward clearly wants the fight though as he flew to London to watch the fight at ringside. I'd be surprised if the fight doesn't take place in London. It makes financial sense, which is what boxing is all about these days!
