I already had him at #9, right ahead of Donaire, this puts him at #7 for me. Beating Ward, would put him at #1 for me, as I rank Ward #1 pound for pound.

I'd certainly place Mares on there higher than Froch right now. But Froch cracks my Top 10 for sure.
Out of interest, why is 2010 the cut off?

Well isn't P4P supposed to be a "What have you done for me lately" list???

Really??? Ward's last good win was against Froch in December 2011. I don't really rate his win over Dawson, which was at 168. Had he gone up in weight and beat him at 175, I'd say there's a very good shot he could have taken #1 from Floyd.

I seem to be one of the few that does rate that win. Dawson, to my eyes, was doing fairly well early on, until Ward knocked him down and from then on, Ward put on a clinic against a guy who is lineal division champ who had fought at the weight before, that DAWSON called him out at. I give Ward credit for that win, as I give Floyd credit for Marquez and Hatton at WW, even though Hatton didn't look so great against Collazo there and Marquez didn't have a fight above LW until the Manny rematch 3 years later.

Not to say I don't think Floyd is great, he is, but like you said it's a what have you done for me lately list.

              SINCE LATE 2009

WARD - Dawson, Froch, Abraham, Bika, Green, Kessler

MAYWEATHER - Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero

              Ward's is better to me.

It is, I was just wondering why you chose 2010. It's a tough thing to quantify the pound for pound list.

I feel like a fighter needs a certain number of good wins to get onto the list and where you are on the list depends upon your last opponent or two and how well you beat them.

The other thing is that the HW champ of the world doesn't belong on there imo, he supercedes any list, in real terms he is already numero uno and does not need a pound for pound list to qualify him.

                  SINCE LATE 2009

WARD - Dawson, Froch, Abraham, Bika, Green, Kessler

MAYWEATHER - Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero

Ward lost all credibility for beating Dawson because it's at 168. Now if Dawson were to drop in weight and do something at 168 in the future, than we can call that a good win. Marquez was crap for Floyd in 09', but given what he's done against the supposed #1 guy there, we can look back and rate that win now.

Ward's gotten 3-4 good wins total. Kessler and Froch were real good wins, Abraham and Bika were solid wins against Top 10 fighters.

Mayweather has beaten Marquez, which is now a good win since Marquez just beat Manny twice arguably at the same weight. Mosley was a real good win at the time, was Top 5 P4P coming off the destruction of Margarito. Cotto, Guerrero, and Ortiz were all solid wins against Top 3 ranked fighters at those weights.

I don't see how Floyd takes a back seat to Ward at this moment in time.

I guess that's just difference of opinion, like those saying how much better Marquez has looked at the weight with Memo in his corner, he still would get schooled by Floyd. Dawson and Ward could go to 175, the gap in talent was evident and I don't think the weight would change that. The Mosley win was good at the time, I give him full credit for that unlike most.

It looks like our difference of opinion boils down to that Dawson fight. I rate it as a great victory for Ward, you don't, like many others.
